And all that piece or parcel of land situated at Kawhia, being Lot 1 in the Parish of Waiharakeke, in the County of Grey, in the Provincial District of Auckland, granted to Thomas Buddle, his heirs and assigns, upon trust for the site and endowment of a school for the education of aboriginal Natives and half-castes of New Zealand in connection with the religious society denominated Wesleyan Methodists.

And notice is hereby given that copies of the said Bill will be deposited in the Examiner's office within fourteen days after the commencement of the said session.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Opotiki County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, namely, the making of a county road; and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Opotiki County Council situate at Main Street, Opotiki, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk, at the Council Chambers, Main Street, Opotiki.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore carried on by the undersigned, ALLAN LANGMUIR, ROBERT WILLIAM MCCREATH, and WILLIAM GRAY RUSSELL, at Invercargill, under the style or firm of “Langmuir, Sim, and Co.,” has been dissolved as from the 20th day of June, 1911.

The business will in future be carried on under the same style or firm by the said ALLAN LANGMUIR on his separate account, and who will pay and receive all debts owing from and to the said Partnership in the regular course of trade.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between THOMAS PAGE WILLIAMSON and LOUIS JOSEPH JOEL, carrying on business as Jewellers at No. 33 Princes Street, Dunedin, under the style or firm of “T. P. Williamson and Co.,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, so far as concerns the said Louis Joseph Joel, who retires from the said firm.

All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid respectively by the said THOMAS PAGE WILLIAMSON, who will continue to carry on the said business under the style or firm of “T. P. Williamson and Co.”

SCHOOL FOR DEAF-MUTES, SUMNER, NEAR CHRISTCHURCH.

Under the Control and Supervision of the Education Department.

Director: MR. J. E. STEVENS.

FOR Deaf Children of sound intellect. The pupils are taught to use and understand ordinary speech. The full charge for board and education is £40 a year, but less is accepted from parents who cannot afford to pay this amount. In case of necessity admission is free.

By the Education Act, the education of deaf children between the ages of 7 and 16 is made compulsory. A child is, as a rule, best fitted to begin the school course at about the age of six, but advice should be obtained as soon as any sign of deafness is observed.

The following classes of deaf children are admitted :—

  1. Children born deaf, or who have lost their hearing before learning to speak.
  2. Children who can hear a little, but are too deaf to be taught in an ordinary school.
  3. Children who have lost their hearing after having learned to speak.

Parents and other persons acquainted with such cases above the age of 4 are invited to communicate with the Director, or with
