thereto enabling, the Waihemo County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, principal, and other charges on a loan of £250, authorized to be raised by the ratepayers of the Goodwood Riding of the Waihemo County, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of constructing a bridge over Pleasant River near Goodwood Railway-station, the said Waihemo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/16 of a penny in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable property of and within the Goodwood Riding of the Waihemo County; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Waihemo County Council held on Saturday, the 15th day of April, 1911; and the common seal of the Council was hereto affixed in the presence of—

THE following resolution, made by the Whangarei County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

MAUNU SPECIAL RATING DISTRICT.

Special Loan of £7,000.

PROPOSED by Councillor Kernohan, seconded by Councillor N. McKenzie: Resolved, That, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the amendment thereof, and of all other powers thereto enabling, the Whangarei County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the interest and principal and other charges upon a special loan of £7,000, authorized to be raised by the Whangarei County Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of forming and metalling the main roads within the special-rating area known as the Maunu Special-rating District, as defined in the notices published in the daily issue of the Northern Advocate newspaper of the 17th and 18th March, 1911, and in the weekly issue of the said newspaper published on 17th March, 1911, and 24th March, such special-rating area forming part of the Maunu Riding of the Whangarei County Council, the said Whangarei County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable property of and within the said special-rating district as above defined; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly in one sum on the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above special resolution was adopted at a meeting of the Whangarei County Council held on the 14th day of June, 1911.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE LOAN.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Town District of Papakura was taken on the 17th day of June, 1911, on the proposal of the Town Board to borrow the sum of £1,250 for the purpose of improving portion of Station Road, Great South Road, Onslow Road, Ranfurly Road, and Boundary Road, and replacing two bridges on Boundary Road, and obtaining a supply of metal.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 49. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 17. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Town District of Frankton was taken on the 21st day of June, 1911, on the proposal of the Frankton Town District to borrow the sum of £10,000 for acquiring, constructing, and establishing waterworks for the supply of water to the inhabitants of the Frankton Town District.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 60. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 12. Informal, 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

GULF ST. VINCENT.—TROUBRIDGE SHOALS.—SULTANA PASSAGE.

MASTERS of vessels and others are hereby informed that the red perch buoy which recently marked the northern entrance to Sultana Passage has been removed, and that the entrance is now marked by a pile beacon painted red and having a circular top, and placed in 9 ft. O.L.W.S. half a cable to the eastward of the position where the buoy was moored.

This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 2389A and 2152.
