COMPLETE specifications relating to the un-
dermentioned applications for Letters Patent
have been accepted, and are open to public inspec-
tion at this office. Any person may, at any time
within two months from the date of this Gazette,
give me notice in writing of opposition to the grant
of any such patent. Such notice must set forth
the particular grounds of objection, and be in
duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon.
The copies of claims and extracts from the speci-
fications and drawings are merely intended to give
some further indication of the invention than is
disclosed in the title, and the complete specifica-
tions and drawings should be referred to for a
description of the invention.

Extract from Specification.—According hereto, the lip of one
end of the sheet of corrugated iron is blocked out simul-
taneously with the act of corrugation of the iron sheet. The
flat lip is nailed on to the purlings of all houses and other
buildings on which corrugated iron is at present used. .

Engineer. Improvements in sheep-shearing machines.*
Claims.—(1.) In sheep-shearing machines, the combination
of a cutter-lever in two sections, a balance-lever, a fulcrum-
pin, and a double crank for giving motion to both the cutter-
lever and the balance-lever, as described and illustrated.
(2.) In sheep-shearing machines, the combination of a cutter-
lever in two sections, a balance-lever, a fulcrum-pin, a double
crank, a pair of bevel-wheels, a shaft, and a bearing in casing,
as described and illustrated. (3.) In sheep-shearing machines,
the combination of a cutter-lever in two sections, a balance-
lever, a fulerum-pin, a double crank, a pair of bevel-wheels,
a shaft, a bearing in casing, a tension-stud, a tension-nut, a
cutter, a comb, and a casing, as described and illustrated.
(4.) The combination of the several parts to form a machine
for shearing sheep, as described and illustrated.

Claims.—(1.) The described construction whereby a sky-
light-frame is readily taken apart for transport purposes and
reassembled and fixed upon a roof by a person having little
mechanical skill. (2.) In a skylight-frame having vertical
walls and horizontal flanges, top and bottom sections fitting
upon side sections, joints between the sections being made by
a raised portion fitting a corresponding recess, substantially
as specified, and illustrated in the drawings. (3.) In a sky-
light of the kind described, a stiffening-bar fitting a socket
upon the top of the frame and a channel at the bottom of the
frame, substantially as specified, and illustrated in the draw-
