Agreement for Grant of Right-of-way unto the Owners and Occupiers for the time being of certain Portions of Sections 173 and 176, Town of Wanganui, assented to.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the 25th day of June, 1909, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 54, page 1718, of the 1st day of the month following, all that piece of land containing 32 perches, portion of Sections 173 and 176, Borough of Wanganui, as therein described, was taken for the purpose of the Wanganui Post-office: And whereas at the date of the said Proclamation the said land was subject to a right-of-way reserved by deed of conveyance dated the 19th day of December, 1877, registered in the Deeds Register Office, at Wellington, as No. 29980, over all that strip of land shown coloured yellow on the plan deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works and marked P.W.D. 24365: And whereas in lieu of paying compensation for the loss of the said right-of-way to those persons (other than the Bank of Australasia) to whom the same was reserved, or who might, but for the said Proclamation, be now entitled to use such right-of-way, the Minister of Public Works has agreed that the said right-of-way should be regranted unto the owners or occupiers for the time being of those portions of Sections 173 and 176, on the plan of the Town of Wanganui, which lie to the south of the said strip of land coloured yellow; and also the owners or occupiers for the time being of Section 177 on the said plan of the Town of Wanganui, or any part or parts of the same respectively, in common with His Majesty the King, and all other persons who have or who may hereafter have a like right, full and free right, and liberty of way, ingress, egress, regress, passage, and way over the said strip of land coloured yellow, provided that such strip of land coloured yellow shall be used as forming one way or passage together and in common with the right-of-way granted to His Majesty the King by deed of grant bearing date the 10th February, 1911, over the land coloured green on the plan marked P.W.D. 24365 aforesaid: And whereas the persons (other than the Bank of Australasia) entitled to be paid compensation for the loss of the right-of-way have agreed to accept the grant of the right-of-way in full satisfaction of the said compensation: Now, therefore, I, Roderick McKenzie, the Minister of Public Works, do hereby give notice, in pursuance of the provisions of section 84 of the Public Works Act, 1908, that I assent to the above agreement.

Approving and appointing Bonded Tobacco Manufactory.

IN pursuance of the powers in me for this purpose vested by the Tobacco Act, 1908, I, the Minister of Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the undermentioned building or premises as a manufactory in which tobacco may be manufactured prior to the payment of duty thereon:—

A wooden building, roofed with corrugated iron, situated on Section 125, Victoria Street, Hamilton, to be known as CHOCQUEEL’S TOBACCO-FACTORY.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this third day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks XI, XII, and XIV, Rarete Survey District, for Scenery-preservation Purposes.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for scenery-preservation purposes. And notice is hereby given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Pipiriki, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.
