Transfer of Territorial Force Officer to Reserve of Officers.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the transfer of Lieutenant-Colonel John Ranken Reed from the command of the 3rd (Auckland) Regiment (“Countess of Ranfurly’s Own”) to the Reserve of Officers, with the rank of Colonel, and with effect from 25th January, 1911.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve, in accordance with section 6 (a) of the Defence Act, 1909, of the grouping of the undermentioned Batteries into Field Artillery Brigades, as shown below, and with effect from 1st May, 1911:—

Auckland Field Artillery Brigade (Auckland).

“ A ” Battery, New Zealand Field Artillery.

“ G ” Battery, New Zealand Field Artillery.

Canterbury Field Artillery Brigade (Christchurch).

“ E ” Battery, New Zealand Field Artillery.

“ H ” Battery, New Zealand Field Artillery.

Otago Field Artillery Brigade (Dunedin).

“ B ” Battery, New Zealand Field Artillery.

“ C ” Battery, New Zealand Field Artillery.

Wellington Field Artillery Brigade (Wellington).

“ D ” Battery, New Zealand Field Artillery.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to abolish, in accordance with section 6 (a) of the Defence Act, 1909, the existing designations of the undermentioned batteries of field artillery, and to approve that such batteries be redesignated in the manner as set forth hereunder, and with effect from 19th April, 1911:—

“ J ” Battery, New Zealand Field Artillery, to be “ C ” Battery, New Zealand Field Artillery, with headquarters at Invercargill.

“ K ” Battery, New Zealand Field Artillery, to be “ G ” Battery, New Zealand Field Artillery, with headquarters at Hamilton.
