Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the
Purposes of a Road in the Spring Creek Road District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes
of the Picton-Hurunui Railway, and it is considered
desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road :
And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of
Railways that such land is not required for railway pur-
poses: And whereas such land is situated in the Spring
Creek Road District, the local authority of which has
assented to the issue of this Proclamation :
And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion
that the said local authority can conveniently construct
and maintain the said road :
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by section one hundred and
ninety-seven of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every
other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this
behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication
hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and
that the said road shall be under the control of the Spring
Creek Road Board, and shall be maintained by the said
Board in like manner as other public highways are con-
trolled and maintained by the said Board.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Marl-
borough, containing an area of 2 roods 9 perches, more or
less, being a portion of railway land at Blenheim, situate
in Section 37, Wairau West District, and being bounded
as follows: On the north by the northern boundary of the
railway reserve a distance of 557·3 links, on the east by the
eastern boundary of the railway reserve a distance of
100 links, on the south by a line parallel to the said
northern boundary of the railway reserve a distance of
557·4 links, and on the west by the road on the eastern
side of the line of the Picton-Blenheim Railway a distance
of 100 links; as the said parcel of land is more particu-
larly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 18568, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Railways, at Wellington,
and thereon coloured purple.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of
New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued
under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
first day of April, in the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and eleven.

ERRATA.—In the New Zealand Gazette No. 32, of the 20th April, 1911, page 1349, “ Territorial Regiments grouped
into Brigades,” the regiments under the subheading Canterbury Infantry Brigade should read as follows, and not
as therein stated, viz.: Canterbury Infantry Brigade—1st (Canterbury) Regiment; 2nd (South Canterbury) Regiment;
12th (Nelson) Regiment; 13th (North Canterbury) Regiment.
In the New Zealand Gazette No. 32, of the 20th April, 1911, page 1349, “ Territorial Force Officers promoted and
appointed to Command of Brigades,” for the words “Lieutenant-Colonel Andrew Hamilton Russell to be Colonel to
command the Wellington Mounted Rifles,” read “ Lieutenant-Colonel Andrew Hamilton Russell to be Colonel to com-
mand the Wellington Mounted Brigade.”
