NOTICE is hereby given that, the lease of the undermentioned land having been forfeited by resolution of the Hawke’s Bay Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Timber in Nelson Land District for Sale by Public Tender.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders will be received at this office up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, the 28th day of April, 1911, for the purchase of the undermentioned milling-timber.

CONDITIONS OF SALE.

The right to cut and remove the timber will be generally in accordance with the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, the Timber Regulations made thereunder, and the following conditions :—
(a.) The tender must be accompanied by a deposit of 5 per cent. of the amount of such tender, together with £1 1s. license fee.
(b.) The successful tenderer shall pay the purchase-money in three instalments: 10 per cent. on the acceptance of his tender; half of the balance of the purchase-money at the end of three months, and the other half at the end of six months, from date of acceptance of tender. -
The purchaser of the timber referred to herein shall have the right to cut it during a period of one year from date of acceptance of tender.

The licensee shall not put, throw, or place, or allow to be put, thrown, or placed, in any river, stream, or watercourse, or into any place where it may be washed into a stream, river, or watercourse, any sawdust or any refuse.

If no tender is received for the timber, the right to cut it at the minimum price quoted in the Schedule above will remain open for application until further notice.

No compensation will be given, nor shall any be claimed, for any error, discrepancy, or misdescription whatever in respect to the lot or in these conditions.

The attention of intending purchasers is directed particularly to clauses 9, 17, 18, 22, 23, and 27 of the Timber Regulations, copies of which may be obtained on application to the undersigned.

Milling-timber in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Tender.

NOTICE is hereby given, in terms of the Land Act, 1908, and the regulations thereunder, that written tenders will be received at this office from the proprietors of existing sawmills and logging contractors, up till 12 o’clock noon on Tuesday, 2nd May, 1911, for the kauri-timber standing on the undermentioned lots.
SCHEDULE.
THAMES COUNTY.
Lot 1, Crown Land, part Blocks VIII and XII, Hastings Survey District (Taranaki Creek).
70 KAURI-TREES, containing approximately 265,783 sup. ft. (standing measurement).
7 kauri-trees, estimated to contain 26,600 sup. ft.
Distinguishing brand: Measured timber, X; estimated timber unbranded.
Time for removal: One year.
Minimum price: 1s. per 100 sup. ft.
3 defective and inaccessible kauri-trees, branded F.R. ▲, not included in this sale.
CONDITIONS.

Intending tenderers are expected to visit the locality and to satisfy themselves on all particulars relating to their tenders.

The aforementioned quantity, quality, and kind as to the said timber shall be taken as sufficiently accurate for the purpose of this sale, and no contract for purchase shall be voidable, nor shall the successful tenderer be entitled to any abatement in price, by reason of the said timber being of less quantity, quality, and kind than as stated herein or in any advertisement having reference to the said timber, nor shall any extra sum be claimed by the Crown if for any reason the quantity of timber is found to be in excess of that stated herein.

No tender will be considered wherein a less royalty is offered than the minimum price above stated.

An offer from the successful tenderer will be considered for the purchase of the defective and isolated trees mentioned herein.

With the exception of the unmeasured trees, the quantity stated is standing measurement.

Should any dispute arise as to boundaries, the decision of the Commissioner of Crown Lands shall be final.

In the event of the above lot not being disposed of, applications may be received and dealt with at any time within six months from the above date of closing of tenders (unless previously formally withdrawn), providing, however, that the amount offered is not less than the minimum price stated herein.

Tenders must be submitted on forms which will be supplied on application to the Postmaster, Thames, or the above office, and envelopes enclosing same to be marked “Tender for Timber,” and addressed to the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Auckland.
