Situated on the bank of the old course of the Mangatainoka River, having frontages to Macdonald and Hall Streets. Macdonald Street is unformed at present. Access is from Pahiatua Railway-station, about half a mile distant, by metalled road. Flat land in grass. Soil of fair quality, on shingle formation; well watered by the old river-bed, springs, &c. This lease is subject to a right-of-way, 30 links wide, along the north-eastern boundary, as shown on plan. Owners of any improvements now upon the land will be allowed one month from date of offering in which to remove them.

Town of Pohangina (Wanganui Harbour Board Endowment).

Good river-flats, partly fronting the main street. Access is from Ashhurst, about nine miles distant, by a good metalled road. All cleared and in grass; ring-fenced. Soil of good loam, on shingle formation.

Kakahi is situated near the junction of the Upper Wanganui and Whakapapa Rivers, about ten miles south of Taumarunui. The North Island Main Trunk Railway passes through it. The sections comprise open land; soil light and pumiceous, on pumice subsoil.

Village of Hiwera.

This village is situated on the Moawhango Valley Road, which is available for dray traffic, access being from Taihape, which is twelve miles distant. The lot comprises lands under mixed forest, with soil of good loam on papa formation.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. Tenders must be accompanied by marked cheque or post-office order for six months’ rent at the rate offered, together with £1 1s. lease fee.

  2. There are no restrictions or limitations as to the number of sections which one person may lease, and no declaration is required. Residence and improvements are not compulsory. No compensation shall be claimed by the lessee, nor shall any be allowed by the Government, on account of any improvements effected by the lessee, nor for any other cause.

  3. Possession will be given on the day of acceptance of tender.

  4. The leases shall be for the terms specified, but shall be subject to termination by twelve months’ notice in the event of the land being required by the Government.

  5. The rent shall be paid half-yearly in advance.

  6. The lessee shall have no right to sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the land comprised in the lease, without consent.

  7. The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse, broom, and sweetbriar on the land comprised in the lease; and he shall with all reasonable despatch remove, or cause o be removed, all gorse, sweetbriar, broom, or other noxious weeds or plants, as may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

  8. The lease will be liable to forfeiture in case the lessee shall fail to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease within thirty days after the date on which the same ought to be fulfilled.

  9. The highest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral run is open for license, and applications will be received at this office up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 28th day of March, 1911, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and section 91 of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1910.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

RUN 501, Tuapeka County (Class B): Area, 4,495 acres; term, thirteen years; annual rental, £66; valuation for improvements, £123 17s.
Possession will be given on 1st September, 1911.

Locality and Description.

Rough, broken, pastoral land, summer country only. Altitude, 2,000 ft. to 5,000 ft. Distant about nine miles from Roxburgh. The improvements consist of fencing on boundary with Run 425B, 176 chains, at 6s. per chain, £52 16s.; fencing on half boundary with Small Grazing-run No. 500, 98 chains, at 7s. per chain, £34 6s.; fencing on half boundary with Small Grazing-run No. 502, 36 chains, at 10s. per chain, £18; fencing on half boundary with Small Grazing-run No. 502, 50 chains, at 7s. 6d. per chain, £18 15s.: total, £123 17s.
