Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.

Patent Office,
Wellington, 11th January, 1911.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the undermentioned applications for Letters Patent have been accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within two months from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the grant of any such patent. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon.

The copies of claims and extracts from the specifications and drawings are merely intended to give some further indication of the invention than is disclosed in the title, and the complete specifications and drawings should be referred to for a description of the invention.

No. 26384.—7th August, 1909.—HILARY QUERTIER, of General Post Office, Christchurch, New Zealand, Engineer. An electrical transmitting, printing, indicating, and recording apparatus.*

Extract from Specification.—The preferred form of apparatus consists in a drum having the dies secured across its periphery at intervals apart in its circumference—that is, mounted within a frame carrying a number of solenoids arranged radially from the drum. Each solenoid is provided with a core that, when the solenoid is actuated, will project into the line of rotation of a stop upon the drum. Arranged beneath the drum is a pivoted table extending between a pair of bell crank levers, which levers are connected with the drum in such a manner as to cause the drum to rotate through portion of a revolution when the table is rocked up and down on its pivot. The paper strip is fed across the table, and the table is adapted to engage with one or other of the dies when it is swung up on its pivot and, an inking-ribbon being interposed between, to thus cause an impression to be made upon the paper. The table is thus actuated by means of a solenoid the core of which is connected with the table. Thus, when this solenoid is energized and one of the solenoids around the drum also energized, the table will be moved up, and a partial rotation will be imparted to the drum until its stop-piece contacts with the core of the energized solenoid around it, which is so positioned as to bring a particular die into the position to be engaged by the table. Means are provided whereby the portion of the paper strip printed upon may be severed from the main strip and delivered out of the machine, or whereby the record strip may be wound up for a permanent record. Means are also provided whereby the time at which an impression is made may be recorded on the strip.

[NOTE.—The above extract from the specification is inserted in place of the claims.]
(Specification, 15s. 3d.)

No. 27115.—5th January, 1910.—EDWARD ALBERT GEORGE HAMLIN, of Napier, New Zealand, Cabinetmaker, &c. Improvements in ice-chests.*
