A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by the Marriage Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing marriage districts known as the Norsewood, Danevirk, Rakaia, and Hororata Districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into four marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follows :-

NORSEWOOD DISTRICT.

All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded towards the north by a right line from a point on the summit of the Ruahine Range due west of the source of the Manawatu River to the said source of that river; thence towards the north-east by the said Manawatu River to the Kahututaeatua Stream; thence towards the south-west by that stream to the northernmost corner of Section No. 1, Block V, Takapau Survey District; thence towards the south-east by Sections Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 95, Block V aforesaid, across a road, and by Sections Nos. 155, 133, and 140, said Block V, and Section No. 166, Block IX, to the road at the north-western corner of that section; thence across and by that road to Section No. 124, Block IX aforesaid, and by that section to the Mangatawainui River; thence towards the east generally by that river to the north-eastern corner of Otanga Block; thence towards the south by Otanga Block to the Whakaruatapu Stream; thence by a line running due west to the Mangatera Stream; thence towards the west and south-west by that stream to the northernmost corner of Section No. 31, Block XIII, Norsewood Survey District; thence by Sections Nos. 19 and 18, Block VIII, Norsewood Survey District, the abutment of a road, Section No. 17, Block VIII aforesaid, and the north-eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section produced to the summit of the Ruahine Range; and thence again towards the west generally by the summit of the Ruahine Range to the place of commencement.

DANNEVIRKE DISTRICT.

All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded towards the north-east generally by a right line from a point on the summit of the Ruahine Range in line with the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 17, Block VIII, Norsewood Survey District, to the northernmost corner of that section; thence by the north-eastern boundary of the said Section No. 17, the abutment of a road, and the north-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 18 and 19, Block VIII aforesaid, to the Mangatera Stream at the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by the Mangatera Stream to a point due west of the north-western corner of Otanga Block; thence by a right line to the north-western corner of that block, and thence by the northern boundary of the said Otanga Block to the Mangatawainui River; thence by that river to its confluence with the Manawatu River; thence by the Manawatu River to its confluence with the Mangapuaka Stream; thence by that stream to the boundary of Patangata County; thence by Patangata County to the southernmost corner of Mangararara No. 3 Block; thence towards the south-east by a right line to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 4, Block XIV, Mangatoro Survey District; thence by a right line to Trig. Station No. 51, Oporae; thence towards the south-west generally by Puketoi No. 6b Block, and Woodville County as described in the Schedule to the Woodville County Act, 1901, to the Otopae Stream; thence by that stream to the south-eastern corner of Otawhao Block; thence by the south-eastern boundary of that block to the Otawhao Stream, by that stream, and again by the south-eastern boundary of the Otawhao Block to the Manawatu River; thence across and by that river to the southern boundary of Oringiwairuhe No. 2 Block; thence by the southern and western boundaries of that block, and by Blocks XI, X, and XVI, Woodville Survey District, to the summit of the Ruahine Range; and thence towards the north-west generally by the summit of that range to the place of commencement.

RAKAIA DISTRICT.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded towards the north-east generally by the left bank of the Rakaia River from a point in line with Lauriston and Barhill Road to the road intersecting Rural Sections Nos,
