Award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal to Acting-Major WILLIAM HENRY PODEN, South Canterbury Battalion of Infantry,
he having a total service to 3rd February, 1911, entitling him thereto of twenty years and eleven days.

Hungarian Partridges turned at large in Mangonui and Whangaroa Acclimatization Society's District declared to be vested in that Society.

His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that the Mangonui and Whangaroa Acclimatization Society have turned at large a number of Hungarian partridges in the Mangonui-Whangaroa Acclimatization District, and that the property in such Hungarian partridges and their offspring, and in every bird of a like species at large in that acclimatization district, is deemed to be absolutely vested in the said Mangonui and Whangaroa Acclimatization Society for a period of two years from the date hereof, as provided by section 56 of the Animals Protection Act, 1908.

Special Orders made by the Council of the County of Raglan.

THE following special orders, made by the Raglan County Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Orders authorizing Raisure of Loan of £350 over Te Puroa No. 2 Special Rating District, and striking Special Rate over above Area as Security for above Loan.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, and amendments thereto, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves as follows:-
Special Order No. 1.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section 15 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, and with the consent of the ratepayers of the Te Puroa No. 2 Special Rating District, testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers in the said special rating district, the capital values of whose properties as appearing on the valuation roll of the said district is collectively greater than the capital values of the properties of the ratepayers who did not so consent, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves by way of special order: That, for the purpose of forming a road from Sections 3, 6, and 7 of Block X, Newcastle Survey District, to the Waingaro-Ngaruawahia Road, the Raglan County Council hereby authorizes the raising of a loan of £350, at a rate of interest (to cover both interest and redemption) not to exceed £5 per centum per annum, for a period of thirty-six years and a half, and declares that the cost of raising the said loan and the first year's interest on the loan shall be payable out of the moneys so raised.
Special Order No. 2
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £350, authorized to be raised by the Raglan County Council, under the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, for the purpose of forming a road from Sections 3, 6, and 7 of Block X, Newcastle Survey District, to the Waingaro-Ngaruawahia Road, the said Raglan County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Te Puroa No. 2 Special Rating District. The boundaries of the special rating district are as follows: Commencing at the northern corner of Section 173 of Block VI, Newcastle Survey District; thence along the western boundary of same section to the northern corner of Section 174; thence along the northern boundaries of Sections 174, 175, 176, and 162 to the north-western corner of Section 162; thence along the western boundaries of Sections 162, 210, 159, 158, and 157 to the southern boundary of Section 157; thence west along the northern boundaries of Sections 6 and 3 to the north-western corner of Section 3; thence along the western boundary of Section 3 to the north-west boundary of Section 4; thence along the southern boundaries of Sections 3, 6, and 7 to the south-eastern boundary of Section 7; thence running north along the eastern boundaries of Sections 7, 222, 211, and 212 to the south-eastern boundary of Section 173; thence along the southern, eastern, and northern boundaries of Sections 201, 191, and 173 to the point of commencement. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, and the rate of interest to be paid (to cover both interest and redemption) not to exceed £5 per centum per annum, or until the loan is fully paid off; and it is the intention to pay out of loan cost of raising same and the first year's interest.
The above resolutions were duly passed as special orders at a special meeting of the Raglan County Council held on the 9th January, 1911, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 15th day of February, 1911.
