Mining Act, 1908, and from any specified provisions of that Act :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the hereinbefore-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby exempt the lands particularly described in the Schedule hereto from mining, and from any specified mining purpose, and from the operations of the Mining Act, 1908, and from any specified provisions of the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

PORTION OF GLENHAM SETTLEMENT.

ALL those areas of land in the Southland Land District, situated in Blocks V, VI, VIII, and IX, Wyndham Survey District, containing together by admeasurement 2,721 acres 3 roods 33 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A, 8A, 10A, 11A, 12A, 13A, 17A, 18A, 25A on the plan of Glenham Settlement; as the said sections are delineated on the plan marked 19241, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Warrant authorizing the Manawatu County Council to construct Beach Road, between the Borough of Foxton and the Manawatu Heads, and apportioning the Cost.


ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and nine of the Public Works Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that in any case where a road in one district is largely used by or for the purpose of traffic to or from any other district or districts, and affords access to or from such districts, and the Governor is of opinion that it is equitable that the latter district or districts should contribute towards the cost of constructing or maintaining the whole or any portion of such road in the former district, the Governor may from time to time apportion the cost of constructing or maintaining the whole or any part of such road among the local authorities of the respective districts as he thinks fit; and for that purpose and to enable effect to be given hereto the provisions of section one hundred and nineteen hereof shall, mutatis mutandis, apply in the case of the construction or reconstruction of the road, and the provisions of section one hundred and twenty hereof in the case of the maintenance of the road :

And whereas the Manawatu County Council has given notice and taken the steps required by section one hundred and nineteen of the said Act, and has made application to the Governor to authorize the construction of the road described in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as “the said work”), and to apportion the cost of the said work between the said County Council and the Foxton Borough Council as required by the said section one hundred and nineteen :

And whereas no objection was made to the Governor within the period of two months prescribed by paragraph (a) (iii), subsection two, of the said section one hundred and nineteen :

And whereas the Governor is of opinion that the said work should be done, and that it is equitable that the cost of the said work should be provided and paid in the manner and in the proportions hereinafter respectively set forth :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby authorize the Manawatu County Council to execute the said work; and I do hereby declare that the cost thereof, less such contribution as may be made thereto (if any) by the Government of New Zealand, shall be borne by the Manawatu County Council and the Foxton Borough Council in the following proportions, viz.: The Manawatu County Council to bear fifty per centum of such cost and the Foxton Borough Council to bear fifty per centum of such cost respectively :

And I do hereby direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Foxton Borough Council shall be paid from time to time in the proportions hereinbefore prescribed out of the funds of the said Council within a period of thirty days after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the Council of the County of Manawatu, and such payments shall be made from time to time to the Clerk of the Manawatu County Council for and on account of such Borough Council.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that road in the Manawatu County, Wellington Land District, known as Beach Road, running from the western boundary of the Borough of Foxton to the Manawatu Heads; as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 27920, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Postmaster appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.


PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that

JAMES OTAMATEA MASEFIELD,

being a person holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at Batley, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

As witness my hand, this sixteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Postmaster appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.


PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that

ARTHUR HENRY BECKETT,

being a person holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at Linton, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

As witness my hand, this seventeenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.
