of the library only were as follows: From rates levied by a local governing body under Part I of the Libraries and Mechanics’ Institutes Act, 1908, or the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, pounds shillings and pence; from the subscriptions of members, pounds shillings and pence; and from voluntary contributions other than members’ subscriptions, pounds shillings and pence; that the library is public in the sense of belonging to the public, and is not under the control of an association, society, or club whose membership is composed of a section of the community only; that the information hereinafter furnished by me in the appendix hereto is correct in every particular; that the abstract of accounts is a true statement of the receipts and expenditure of the institution for the year herein specified; that the whole of the subsidy received during the year was expended in the purchase of books for the library; and that by the rules of the library it is open to the public free of charge.

DECLARATION BY THE REGISTRAR DISSOLVING A SOCIETY.


I, ROBERT EDWARD HAYES, Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the New Zealand Natives Association is no longer carrying on its operations and has no assets, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

Surveyor’s License suspended.

NOTICE is hereby given that, with the approval of His Excellency the Governor, in terms of subsection (3) of section 179 of the Land Transfer Act, 1908, I have suspended the license of

GEORGE JOHNSTON WEBSTER

to act as a surveyor under the said Land Transfer Act until such time as he complies with the request of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington, to return certain plans and documents, the property of the Government, and of which he has retained possession for some considerable time, in contravention of Survey Regulation No. 70, which requires that plans sent by a Chief Surveyor to a surveyor must be returned with reasonable despatch.

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act 1908.—Amalgamation of Industrial Unions.

NOTICE is hereby given that the unions of workers mentioned in the Schedule hereto have been amalgamated, so as to form one union, under section 20 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, and their registrations have accordingly been cancelled. Pursuant to an order of the Court of Arbitration the cancellations and the amalgamation took effect as from the 21st day of November, 1911.

The name of the amalgamated union is “The Canterbury Printers’ Machinists and Bookbinders’ Industrial Union of Workers.”
