Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Wanaka
Islands Domain.

ISLINGTON, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
fourth day of October, 1910.
Present:

W HEREAS by section forty of the Public Reserves
and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the
said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from
time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint
such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a
Domain Board having, subject to Part II of the said Act,
control of such domain:
And whereas by an Order in Council made on the
twenty-second day of October, one thousand nine hun-
dred, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
twenty-fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred,
powers were delegated to the Wanaka Islands Domain
Board for a term of ten years:
And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a
Domain Board to control the said domain:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers con-
ferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doeth hereby appoint

as from the twenty-fourth day of October, one thousand nine
hundred and ten, to be the Wanaka Islands Domain Board,
having the control of the land described in the said Sche-
dule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provi-
sions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Wednes-
day, the twenty-third day of November, one thousand
nine hundred and ten, at three o'clock p.m., as the time
when, and Pembroke as the place where, the first meeting
of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.
WANAKA ISLANDS DOMAIN.
All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by
admeasurement 300 acres, more or less, and known as
Manuka or Pigeon Island, Lake Wanaka. Bounded on all
sides by Lake Wanaka.
Also all that area in the Otago Land District, containing
by admeasurement 290 acres, more or less, known as Cre-
scent or Rabbit Island, Lake Wanaka. Bounded on all
sides by Lake Wanaka.
Also all that area in the Otago Land District, containing
by admeasurement 113 acres, more or less, being an island
in Stevenson's Arm, Lake Wanaka. Bounded on all
sides by Lake Wanaka.
Also all that area in the Otago Land District, known as
Merino or Roy's Island, in Lake Wanaka, situate about
two miles from Pembroke.
Also all that area in the Otago Land District, containing
by admeasurement 100 acres, more or less, being Section
No. 1, Block XIII, Lower Wanaka Survey District.
Bounded towards the north by road-line, 2927 links; to-
wards the east by a road-line, 3304'6 links; towards the

south by a road-line, 4656 links; and towards the west
by Section No. 2 of same block, 2644 links.
Also all that area in the Otago Land District, containing
by admeasurement 11 acres 2 roods 17 perches, more or
less, being Section No. 29, Block XIV, Lower Wanaka
Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a road-
line which bounds Lake Wanaka, 1967 links; towards
the east by a road-line, 1185 links; towards the south-
west by a road-line, 2163 links.
Also all that area in the Otago Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 13 acres and 13 perches, situate
in the Town of Pembroke, and being Sections numbered
respectively 1, 2, 3, 4 of Block XIV; and Sections 1, 2,
and 3, Block XV; Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11,
12, 13, and 14, Block XVI; and Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16, Block XVII, of
said town. Bounded towards the north-west by Dungan-
non Street, 1581'5 links, also by Section 7 of Block XVI,
200 links; towards the north-east by Macdougall Street,
1000 links; towards the south-east by Brownstown Street,
1581'5 links, also by Section 7 of Block XVI, 200 links;
towards the south-west by Stone Street, 875 links, also by
Section 7, Block XVI, 125 links; and intersected by Dun-
more and Connor Streets, each 100 links wide.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same
are delineated on the plan marked L. 1172, deposited in
the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington,
and thereon coloured red.

Conferring Jurisdiction on Native Land Court.

ISLINGTON, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this second
day of November, 1910.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and three of the
Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that the
Native Land Court shall not proceed to exercise in respect
of any land the jurisdiction conferred by Part V of that
Act unless authorized by Order in Council so to exercise
the same in respect of that land: And whereas it is ex-
pedient that the Court should be authorized to exercise
jurisdiction in respect of the land described in the Sche-
dule hereto:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Do-
minion, doth hereby authorize the said Court to exercise
in respect of the said land the jurisdiction conferred as
aforesaid--that is to say, to determine whether or not
the said land, or any part thereof, was, on ascertainment
of the Native customary title thereto, intended by the Na-
tive Land Court, or by the nominal owner or owners, to be
held in trust for persons not named in the title, and to de-
termine who (if any) are the persons entitled beneficially
to the land, and the relative interests of all persons so
entitled; and to order the inclusion of those persons in
the title, either together with or in lieu of the nominal
owners; and, if necessary or expedient, to partition the
said land among the persons so found entitled; and for the
purposes aforesaid to order the cancellation or amendment
of any existing instrument of title, and the issue of such
new instruments of title as may be necessary, and generally
to exercise in respect of the said land all the jurisdiction
conferred upon the Native Land Court by Part V of the
Native Land Act, 1909.
And it is hereby declared that this Order in Council
is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Native
Land Act, 1909, and shall operate accordingly as a con-
sent of the Governor in Council to the proceedings hereby
authorized.
