NOTE.—The rainfall during the month was considerably below the average, and bright sunny weather prevailed, with high northerly winds. Total bright sunshine, 227 hours 15 minutes. There were no sunless days. Frosts were recorded on four mornings. Earth temperature at 1 ft. rose during the month from 49° to 52°, and from 50° to 52° at 3 ft.; the mean temperature at the former was 51·2°, and 51·5° at the latter. The mean dew-point, 39·6°; mean elastic force of vapour, 0·243″; and mean relative humidity, 62 per cent.
