THE following special order, made by the Featherston County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order Levying Special Rate for Moroa Water-race Loan.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Featherston County Council hereby resolves as follows : That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £4,000, authorized to be raised by the Featherston County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the construction of water-races in the Moroa Water-race District as extended by a special order of the said Council made and confirmed on the 17th day of December, 1909, the Featherston County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1¾d. in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable properties situated in the Moroa Water-race District as extended by the said special order, comprising the land following : All that portion of the Featherston County bounded as follows—commencing at the intersection of the south-western boundary of Section 1, Tawaha Settlement, with the south-eastern boundary of Section 78 ; thence along the eastern boundary of the Moroa Water-race District to its intersection with the south-western boundary of the Borough of Greytown; thence south-easterly and again north-easterly along the boundary of the said borough to the Mangarara Stream; thence along northern boundary of Section 1, Uruokakite North Block, to the Ruamahunga River; thence south-westerly along the boundary of the Waipakiaka Block to its intersection with the southern boundary of Section 8, Uruokakite North Block; thence westerly along the said Section 8 a distance of 15 chains; thence along the edge of a terrace through the Uruokakite South Block to its intersection with the northern corner of Section 18, Moroa; thence southerly along the boundary of the said Section 18 to the Glenmorven Road; thence still along the edge of the said terrace southerly through Sections 4, 3, and B 12, Uruokakite South Block, to the northern boundary of Section 5, Moiki Block; thence still along the said terrace westerly along the boundaries of Sections 5, 1, and 4, Moiki Block, to the Greytown–Martinborough Road; thence south-westerly along the said Greytown–Martinborough Road to the boundary of Section 36; thence southerly along the boundary of Section 36 a distance of 95 chains; thence westerly through Section 36 to the Greytown–Martinborough Road; thence south-westerly and southerly along the boundaries of Sections 30, 29, 28, 21, 16, and 17, Tawaha Settlement, to the boundary of Section 9, Tawaha Settlement; thence westerly, south-easterly, and south-westerly along the boundary of the said Section 9; thence north-westerly along the boundary of Section 8, Tawaha Settlement, to the Hikinui Stream; thence along the Hikinui Stream a distance of 23 chains; thence westerly through Sections 21, 90, and 91 to the Te Maire Road; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Section 1, Tawaha Settlement, to the commencing-point: such land being within the Huangarua and Wairarapa Survey Districts: and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, to be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan be paid off. The rate of interest to be 3½ per cent. per annum. The annual amount of interest and principal shall be £4 17s. 6d. per cent. per annum, payable in equal half-yearly instalments. Also that the foregoing resolution be confirmed as a special order at a meeting of the Featherston County Council to be held on the 9th day of September, 1910.
