A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consent of the owners and mortgagees of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, proclaim as a road the land in Fitzroy Survey District described in the Schedule hereto.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ten.

Additional Rule for Life-saving Appliances for Ships.

ISLINGTON, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of September, 1910.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS rules as to life-saving appliances for ships were made by Order in Council dated the sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and three, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the ninth day of the same month, and amended by an additional rule made by Order in Council dated the third day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nine, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eleventh day of the same month:

And whereas it is desirable to make a further additional rule:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section one hundred and ninety-seven of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following additional rule:-

Rule.

Notwithstanding anything contained in the rules relating to life-saving appliances, dated the 6th day of July, 1903, and the 3rd day of November, 1909, it shall be permissible in the case of such passenger or emigrant steamships as

are required by the rules dated the 6th day of July, 1903, to carry eight or more boats placed under davits, for boats, not exceeding in all one-fourth of the number required by the rules to be placed under davits, to be carried inboard, provided that each boat carried inboard is stowed alongside a boat which is placed directly under davits, and is so arranged that it can be launched promptly. A boat which is carried inboard under this rule need not be always attached to the davit tackles.

Board of Governors of the Whangarei High School to be a Leasing Authority under the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of September, 1910.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Board of Governors of the Whangarei High School is a body having power to lease lands reserved for education purposes, as defined by subsection one of section four of the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908, and has applied to be declared a leasing authority within the meaning of the said Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, doth order and declare that, from and after the date hereof, the Board of Governors of the Whangarei High School shall be a leasing authority within the meaning of that Act: Provided that the said Board shall not have the powers conferred upon leasing authorities by section seven thereof, save and except that a lease granted by the Board may authorize the lessee to cut timber so far as is necessary to clear the land.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Kawhia Domain.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed β€œthe said Act”), His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the thirteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nine, appointing the Kawhia Town Board a Domain Board to have control of the Kawhia Domain, and doth hereby appoint

EDWARD HENRY SCHNACKENBURG,
JAMES KENNEDY NEWTON,
JOHN CROTTY,
THEODORE FREDERICK GIBBONS,
ARTHUR EDWARD LANGLAY,
GEORGE GRENVILLE JONATHAN,
GEORGE HENRY CHASE,
WALTER SAMUEL MORGAN, and
CHARLES CAMPBELL JENKINS

to be the Kawhia Domain Board, having, subject to the said Act, control of the lands described in the Schedule hereto, which lands are a public domain, and shall be called the Kawhia Domain; and also doth hereby appoint Thursday, the sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and ten, at eight o'clock p.m., as the time when, and Mr. James Kennedy Newton's Office, Kawhia, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres and 37 perches, more or less,
