SUMMARY FOR JUNE, 1910.
The rainfall was, as usual in the month of June, higher in the North Island than in the South Island, but was over the average in most parts of the North Island and the northern districts of the South Island, but below the mean for the month in South Canterbury and Central Otago. Rainfall was excessive on the West Coast of the South Island.
The weather was on the whole very changeable and stormy at times. Northerly winds and very humid weather prevailed until the 9th, when the barometer went very low in the south, and was unsteady until the 15th. Heavy snow-storms then occurred in the South Island and on higher levels in the north. Snow fell also on the 16th, 17th, and 18th. High pressure followed, but gave way to another low-pressure area of small intensity on the 21st. A smart rise in barometric pressure took place on the 23rd, but a rapid fall succeeded on the 25th and 26th, and the month closed with stormy weather.
