MY LORD,-I have the honour to acquaint you, for the
information of your Ministers, that His Majesty will not
be advised to exercise his power of disallowance with
regard to the Act 9 Ed. VII No. 9 of the Parliament of
New Zealand, entitled "An Act to make Provision for the
Gift of a Ship of War to His Majesty the King," tran-
scripts of which accompanied your despatch No. 6, of the
27th of January.
2. At the same time I have to request that you will
convey to your Ministers an expression of the sincere
appreciation with which His Majesty's Government regard
the generous action of the Government and people of New
Zealand in spontaneously making such an addition to the
strength of His Majesty's Naval Forces.
