A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said land should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be a scenic reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.
SCHEDULE.
HANGATIKI SCENIC RESERVE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 11 acres and 3 perches, more or less, being Section 2, Block XI, Orahiri Survey District. Commencing at a point 764694·2 links south and 153325·1 links east of Mount Eden: bounded towards the north-west by lines bearing 47° 13′, 489 links; 58° 52′, 1693·6 links; 87° 57′, 327·3 links: towards the south-east by Hauturu East No. 1m Section 5c No. 2b No. 5 Block, bearing 192° 22′, 697 links; by a line bearing 246° 46′, 11271 links; and by a public road, 100 links wide, bearing 257° 52′, 580·8 links, and 274° 12′, 385·3 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid bearings and linkages more or less.
Also all that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 35 acres 1 rood 34 perches, more or less, being Section 3, Block XI, Orahiri Survey District. Commencing at a point 762655 links south and 160881·1 links east of Mount Eden: bounded towards the north-west by a line bearing 54°, 2806·1 links; towards the north-east, south-east, and again towards the north-east by Hauturu East No. 1m Section 5c No. 2a No. 2 Block, 115° 28′, 766·5 links; 205° 11′, 2100 links; and 115° 11′, 654·8 links: again towards the south-east by a line bearing 238° 29′, 426·9 links; and towards the south-west by Hauturu East No. 1m Section 5c No. 2b No. 5 Block, 295° 11′, 2538·8 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid bearings and linkages more or less.
As the above areas are delineated on the plans marked L. 84/6, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red; and also on the plans deposited in the District Office, Department of Lands, Auckland, marked D.S.O. No. 15409.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ten.

Notification of Vacancy of Seat in the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of Auckland East.
IN compliance with the provisions of section 99 of the Legislature Act, 1908, I, Arthur Robert Guinness, Speaker of the House of Representatives of New Zealand, hereby notify that
FREDERICK EHRENFREID BAUME, K.C.,
a member of the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of Auckland East, died on the fourteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and ten, during a recess of the House, and that the said seat in the House of Representatives for the said electoral district is vacant by reason of such death.
