WELLINGTON, WEDNESDAY, MAY 18, 1910.

Funeral of His Late Majesty King Edward VII.

Prime Minister's Office,
Wellington, 12th May, 1910.

THE interment of His late Majesty King Edward VII will take place on Friday, 20th instant, and that day will be observed as a Day of National Mourning.

The Courts of Justice and all Government Offices throughout the Dominion will be closed on that day, and the people of New Zealand are respectfully invited to observe it as a close Day of Mourning.

It is expected that the public will wear mourning. Women and girls to wear a black band on the right arm above the elbow, and men and boys to wear a strip of black ribbon on the lapel of the coat.

Flags on public buildings to be flown at half-mast, and also to have a black streamer one foot above the flag.

It is requested that the flags on other buildings may be similarly arranged.
