No. 27540.—12th April, 1910.—WILLIAM WALLER, of 28 to 32, Vauxhall Walk, Lambeth, London, England, Engineer, and FREDERICK WILLIAM JAMES MOORE, of Arthur Street West, London, England, Merchant. Improvements in machines for the manufacture of tins and like sheet-metal articles.

Claims.—(1.) In machines of the kind described wherein a series of rotating chucks is employed, each carrying one or more rollers, for seaming the ends to the bodies of tins and like sheet-metal articles, the arrangement, on each chuck, of mechanism actuated by the rotation thereof for feeding or pressing the said roller or rollers against the parts to be seamed during the seaming operation, substantially as described. (2.) In machines of the kind described wherein a series of rotating chucks is employed, each carrying one or more rollers, for seaming the ends to the bodies of tins and like sheet-metal articles, the arrangement on each chuck of a cam or cams and means for rotating it or them relatively with the chuck or chucks for feeding or pressing the said roller or rollers against the parts to be seamed during the seaming operation, substantially as described.

Copies of drawings may be obtained at the uniform price of 1s. each. In exceptional cases this price may be increased at the discretion of the Office.
