The nearest railway-station is Ngongotaha, about one mile to the north. The sections are for the most part covered with thick fern and tutu. They lie towards the east.

Sections 1 and 2 are nearly all level, but there is no water on them.

Sections 3 and 4 are flat, with low hills at the back, and are well watered by the Ahipukahu Stream.

The other frontage sections, 5, 6, and 7, are of like description, but there is no water.

The average height of the above-mentioned sections is about 100 ft. above the level of Lake Rotorua.

Sections 8 and 9 are rough and broken, but would make good sheep and cattle country, and take grass readily. The average height above Lake Rotorua is 600 ft. There is no water.

Section 10 consists of good undulating country, partly covered with bush of rimu, rata, and tawa, with thick undergrowth of hangihangi, kareao, ponga, &c. The height above Lake Rotorua is 1,000 ft., and access is by the Ngongotaha Mountain Road. The section is badly watered.

The access-road to the sections is formed.

The soil is rich alluvial flat on Sections 12A and 12B, and varies from rich alluvial flat to poor broken country at the back on Section 3.

The blocks lie to the north and east, and are well watered by the Ngongotaha Stream and springs. They are fern-covered, with scattered tutu and manuka.
