Minister's Decisions under Customs Duties Act.

Department of Trade and Customs, Wellington, 2nd May, 1910.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Hon. the Minister of Customs has decided to interpret the Customs Duties Act in relation to the undermentioned articles as follows :—

NOTE.—“Not otherwise enumerated” appears as n.o.e.; “other kinds” as o.k.; “articles and materials suited only for, and to be used solely in, the fabrication of goods in the Dominion” as a. & m.s. Articles marked thus † are revised decisions.

General Tariff.
10/701 A. and m.s., viz. :—
Coumarin crystals for flavouring confectionery As a. & m.s. (485) .. .. Free.
10/630 Chain-adjusters or “take-ups” (claimed as parts of chains) As manufactured articles of metal n.o.e. (197) 20 per cent.
10/706 Electric appliances n.o.e., viz. :—
Marconi disc condenser, used in wireless telegraphy As electric appliances n.o.e. (190).. 20 per cent. 10 per cent.
10/554 Force or suction cups for clearing waste-pipes of sinks, &c. As manufactured articles of metal n.o.e. (197) 20 per cent.
10/453 Insecticides for agricultural purposes, viz. :—
Red oils denatured before importation by the addition of not less than 1½ lb. of resin to the gallon As insecticides (283) .. .. Free.
10/644 Machines, printing, viz. :—
