will be offered for lease by public auction, at the
Assembly Hall, Rotorua, at 2.30 o'clock p.m., on Wednesday, 18th May, 1910, under the provisions of "The Thermal Springs Districts Act, 1908."

LOCALITY AND DESCRIPTION.
This block is partly second-class and partly third-class land, and lies some three miles to the north-west of the Town of Rotorua, on the main coach-road to Tauranga and the Waikato.
The nearest railway-station is Ngongotaha, about one mile to the north. The sections are for the most part covered with thick fern and tutu. They lie towards the east.
Sections 1 and 2 are nearly all level, but there is no water on them.
Sections 3 and 4 are flat, with low hills at the back, and are well watered by the Ahipukahu Stream.
The other frontage sections, 5, 6, and 7, are of like description, but there is no water.
The average height of the above-mentioned sections is about 100ft. above the level of Lake Rotorua.
Sections 8 and 9 are rough and broken, but would make good sheep and cattle country, and take grass readily. The average height above Lake Rotorua is 600 ft. There is no water.
Section 10 consists of good undulating country, partly covered with bush of rimu, rata, and tawa, with thick undergrowth of hangihangi, kareao, ponga,&c. The height above Lake Rotorua is 1,000 ft., and access is by the Ngongotaha Mountain Road. The section is badly watered.

LOCALITY AND DESCRIPTION.
These lands are second-class, and are situated about four miles from the Town of Rotorua, and adjacent to the Ngongotaha Township.
The nearest point is from 10 to 20 chains from the railway-station at Ngongotaha, whilst the furthest point is not more than one mile and a half away.
The access is by a good road—the main route to Tauranga and the Waikato—and also by the Auckland-Rotorua Railway line.
The access-road to the sections is formed.
The soil is rich alluvial flat on Sections 12A and 12B, and varies from rich alluvial flat to poor broken country at the back on Section 3.
The blocks lie to the north and east, and are well watered by the Ngongotaha Stream and springs. They are fern-covered, with scattered tutu and manuka.
The altitude varies from 950 ft. to 1,500 ft. above sea-level.

LOCALITY AND DESCRIPTION.
The block is partly second- and partly third-class land, and is situated about twenty-eight miles from the Town of Rotorua, access being by the main Rotorua Taupo coach-road.
The nearest post-office is at Waiotapu, distant about five miles.
The soil is light, resting on pumice formation, and is of poor quality.
The altitude is about 1,000 ft. above sea-level.
The land is covered with grass and manoa, and is well watered by the Wharepapa Stream and its tributaries.

This land is second-class, and is situated about one mile from the Tarukenga Railway-station, the access to which is by the main Rotorua-Tirau coach-road.
The soil, though light, is fairly good, and rests on pumice and papa formation.
The altitude is about 1,100 ft. above sea-level.
WHARENUI, PUKETAWHERO, OWATIURA SOUTH, AND ROTOMAHANA-PAREKARANGI No. 4A No. 2 BLOCKS.— ROTORUA COUNTY.— TARAWERA SURVEY DISTRICT.

LOCALITY AND DESCRIPTION.
These sections are third-class land, and are situated some four to five miles south-east of Rotorua Town, which will provide a good market for the produce of the land. The access is by the main road to the coast. The roads leading from the main road to the sections are partly formed, and will be completed when the sections are taken up. The soil is of a light loamy nature, resting on pumice formation. The land is covered with fern, scattered tutu, and patches of manuka. Section 4 contains a small area of forest, consisting of rimu, tawa, rata,&c. The sections all lie to the sun, and are well protected from southerly winds. The land is partly ploughable, and is fairly well watered by the Waingaeho Stream and its branches, and by several springs. The altitude varies from 1,000 ft. to 1,600 ft. above sea-level.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE OF SECOND CLASS LANDS.

Term of Lease.—Twenty-five years, with right of renewal for a further term of twenty five years.

Rental.—The rental shall not be less than the given upset annual rental for the first twenty-five years, and shall be computed at the rate of 5 per cent. on the then unimproved value for the second term of twenty-five years. All rentals shall be payable half-yearly in advance on the 1st January and the 1st July in each year.
