kerbed, channelled, and asphalted footpaths, and the con-
struction of streets, £15,000—the said Hastings Borough
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in
the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property
in the whole of the Borough of Hastings; and that such
special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the
currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day
of August in each and every year during the currency of
such loan, being a period of forty-one years from the 1st day
of August, 1910, or until the loan is fully paid off. Also that
a special meeting of the Hastings Borough Council be held
on Thursday, the 14th day of April, 1910, to confirm the
foregoing resolution.
Sealed with the common seal of the Mayor, Councillors,
and Burgesses of the Borough of Hastings, this 14th day of

THE MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD DISTRICT.
THE result of the poll, taken on the 15th day of January,
1910, of the ratepayers of that portion of the Mount Roskill
Road District outside the Water and Gas Area (excepting
Allotments 1 to 8, Block 13, and Allotments 6 to 16,
Block 11, of Section 13), and known as the Outer Area, for
the purpose of forming, grading, metalling, and draining
certain roads therein was: For the proposal, 43; against
the proposal, 6.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

SUMNER BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 13 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1908,” a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Sumner
was taken on the 13th day of April, 1910, upon the proposal
of the Sumner Borough Council to borrow the sum of £12,000
for installation of a coal-gas works. The number of votes
recorded for the proposal was 131. The number of votes
recorded against the proposal was 210.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

Marine Board, Port Adelaide, South Australia, are
published for general information.

GULF ST. VINCENT.—PORT ADELAIDE RIVER.—NORTH ARM.
MASTERS of vessels and others are hereby informed that the
north-west swinging buoy, used for adjustment of com-
passes, has been removed, and that small vessels using the
channel between Torrens Island and Garden Island must
now keep all the buoys in the north arm on their starboard
hand when bound outward.
Also that four mooring-buoys, painted black, attached to
screw moorings and providing two berths, each 400 ft. in
length, have been placed on the north side of the north
arm, abreast of the west point of Garden Island in 15 ft. at
L.W.S. The most western of these buoys was formerly the
north-eastern swinging buoy.
Approx. position: Lat. 34° 49′ S., long. 138° 30⅔′ E.
This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 1752 and 1750.

OUTER HARBOUR.
Notice is hereby given that on or about the 10th instant
the leading-beacons of No. 1 lead and lights will be shifted
100 ft. to the N.W. of the present leads—that is to say, that
on and after that date they will show through the centre of
the 400 ft. channel.
The direction of the line of leads will remain the same
—viz., N. 55° E., and S. 55° W.
This affects Admiralty Charts 2389A, 1750, and 1752.

WRECK OFF NELSON HARBOUR.

Wellington, N.Z., 19th April, 1910.
NOTICE is hereby given that the s.s. “Koi,” which
founded on 13th March, 1910, off new entrance to
Nelson Harbour, lies N. 73° W. 2,000 ft. from end of break-
water in 11 ft. at L.W.O.S. The bridge deck is partially
out of water at spring tides. A green light is exhibited
from the wreck at night when the weather permits.
