NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

THE Partnership heretofore subsisting between the under-
signed, ARTHUR SUTHERLAND BURNS and JOSIAH GIL-
LENDER, trading as “The Lake Wanaka Ferry Company,”
at Pembroke, has been dissolved by mutual consent as from
the twelfth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and ten.
The business will in future be carried on by the said
Arthur Sutherland Burns alone, and all accounts due to or
by the late firm will be received and paid respectively by him.
Dated at Pembroke, this nineteenth day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and ten.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hereto-
fore existing between us, the undersigned, ARTHUR
NORMAN WAKEFIELD and ROBERT MACFARLANE MURIE, carry-
ing on business at Lawrence and Orepuki as Gold-miners,
under the style or firm of “Wakefield and Murie,” has been
dissolved by mutual consent as from the 18th day of
February, 1910.

WHANGAMOMONA COUNTY COUNCIL.

INSTITUTION OF SPECIAL ORDER MAKING BY-LAWS.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of
the Whangamomona County Council held on the
18th day of October, 1909, a special order was instituted
making by-laws for the regulation of heavy traffic and the
licensing of vehicles, as hereunder. Such special order was
confirmed at a meeting of the Council held on the 24th day
of November, 1909.

THE COUNTY OF WHANGAMOMONA.

By-law regulating Heavy Traffic and the Licensing of
Vehicles.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in it by “The Counties Act, 1908,” “The Public
Works Act, 1908,” and the amendments thereof respectively,
and of every other power and authority it in this behalf
enabling, the Council of the County of Whangamomona doth
hereby ordain and make the following by-laws:—

  1. No person shall use any road under the care, control, or
    management of the County of Whangamomona (hereinafter
    termed “the Council”) by the traction thereon of any
    vehicle for the purpose of “heavy traffic” within the
    meaning assigned to those words by “The Public Works
    Act, 1908,” during any parts of the months of May, June,
    July, August, and September in any year.
  2. Each of the vehicles enumerated in the first column of
    the First Schedule hereto, having the number of wheels
    respectively enumerated in the second column of the said
    Schedule, and constructed to carry, or carrying, respectively
    the weight mentioned in the third column of the said Sche-
    dule, shall have tires on each wheel of a width not less than
    mentioned in the fourth column of the said Schedule. Any
    person driving, or permitting to be driven, any vehicle upon
    any county road in the County of Whangamomona failing to
    comply with these requirements of this by-law shall be guilty
    of an offence.
  3. For the purposes of these by-laws, and for the purpose of
    estimating the weight carried by any vehicle as in the last
    preceding by-law mentioned, the measurement, number, or
    quantity mentioned in the second column of the Second
    Schedule hereto shall be deemed to be 1 ton weight of the
    material, produce, merchandise, or goods of description
    mentioned in the first column of such Second Schedule.
  4. Any person authorised by the Council may, for the pur-
    pose of ascertaining if the provisions of these by-laws are
    being complied with, at any time examine and measure the
    tires of the wheels of any vehicle within, or which has been
    used within, the county, and may for the like purpose, and at
    any time, examine any vehicle, and inspect, measure, and
    weigh such vehicle or the load thereon. Any person refusing
    to permit, or in any way hindering, obstructing, or inter-
    fering with such examination or inspection, or refusing
    forthwith to stop when requested by any person authorised
    by the Council, shall be deemed to have committed a breach
    of this by-law.
  5. For the purpose of these by-laws the word “owner”
    shall include any person having custody or control of,
    whether temporarily or otherwise, or having any interest in,
    any vehicle, but shall not include mortgagee, unless such
    mortgagee have the custody or control thereof.
  6. Any person committing a breach of any of these by-laws
    shall be deemed guilty of an offence, and shall be liable
    upon conviction for any such breach to a penalty not
    exceeding £5.
  7. The above by-laws shall come into operation on the
    twenty-first day after publication of the notification in the
    New Zealand Gazette.
