Allocating Land reserved for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road in Block II, Pouatu Survey District..

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto forms part of land reserved for the purposes of the Stratford-Ongarue Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road :

And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of Public Works that such land is not required for railway purposes :

And whereas such land is situated in the Clifton County, the local authority of which county has assented to the issue of this Proclamation :

And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently control and maintain the said road :

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section one hundred and ninety-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become a road, and that the said road shall be under the control of the Clifton County Council, and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

In the Taranaki Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ten.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Picton-Hurunui Railway to take further land, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway :

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.
