A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Prisons Act, 1908,” it is provided that the Governor may, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, declare any house, building, enclosure, or place to be a prison, and from and after the gazetting of any such Proclamation, or from any later time specified in the Proclamation, such house, building, enclosure, or place shall be deemed a prison:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare that the buildings erected upon the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and all enclosures used or occupied therewith, shall, from and after the publication of this Proclamation in the Gazette, be a prison, known as the Invercargill Prison, within the meaning and for the purposes of “The Prisons Act, 1908.”

SCHEDULE.

The parcels of land mentioned hereunder:—

WHEREAS by “The Prisons Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, by Proclamation, declare that any prison shall no longer be a prison, and upon the gazetting of such Proclamation, or from and after any later date fixed therein, such prison shall cease to be a prison:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by the said Act, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the gazetting of this Proclamation, the prison situated in Spey Street, Invercargill, shall cease to be a prison.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ten.

Closing Government Roads in Block II, Alexandra Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by paragraph (c) of section one hundred and thirty-three of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation publicly notified, stop or alter the course of any Government road or any part thereof:

And whereas the Government roads described in the Schedule hereto are no longer required for the purpose of roads:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim as stopped the roads in Alexandra District described in the Schedule hereto.
