Minister's Decisions under Customs Duties Act.

Department of Trade and Customs, Wellington, 5th December, 1910.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Hon. the Minister of Customs has decided to interpret the Customs Duties Act in relation to the undermentioned articles as follows :—

NOTE.—“Not otherwise enumerated” appears as n.o.e.; “other kinds” as o.k.; “articles and materials suited only for, and to be used solely in, the fabrication of goods in the Dominion” as a. & m.s. Articles marked thus † are revised decisions.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Domain in Auckland Land District for Lease by Public Tender.

District Lands Office,
Auckland, 7th December, 1910.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for a lease of the undermentioned domain will be received at this office up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Friday, the 13th day of January, 1911, under the provisions of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TAUHOA PARISH.—MARABORA DOMAIN.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

  1. Term of lease: Fourteen years.
  2. Tenders must be accompanied by six months’ rent at the rate offered, together with £1 1s. lease fee.
  3. No declaration is required. Residence is not compulsory. No compensation shall be claimed by the lessee, nor shall any be allowed by the Government, on account of any improvements effected by the lessee, nor for any other cause.
  4. Immediate possession will be given.
  5. The lease shall be subject to termination by twelve months’ notice in the event of the land being required by the Government.
  6. The rent shall be paid half-yearly in advance.
  7. The lessee shall have no right to sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the land comprised in the lease without consent.
  8. The land shall not be cropped nor broken up, except with the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands first had and obtained.
  9. The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse, broom, and sweetbriar on the land comprised in the lease; and he shall with all reasonable despatch remove, or cause to be removed, all gorse, sweetbriar, broom, or other noxious weeds or plants, as may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.
  10. The lease shall be liable to forfeiture if the lessee fails to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease within thirty days after the date on which the same ought to be fulfilled.
