Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.
Patent Office,
Wellington, 17th November, 1909.
COMPLETE specifications relating to the undermentioned applications for Letters Patent have been accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within two months from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the grant of any such patent. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon.
The copies of claims and extracts from the specifications and drawings are merely intended to give some further indication of the invention than is disclosed in the title, and the complete specifications and drawings should be referred to for a description of the invention.
No. 25228.—18th November, 1908.—CHARLES GORMAN CUSACK WHYTE, of Pile Street, Marrickville, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, Accountant, and ARTHUR RAU, of 53 Terry Street, St. Peters, Sydney aforesaid, Professional Shorthand-writer. Improvements in and relating to manifold-copying books.
Extract from Specification.—This invention relates to manifold-copying books to be used for recording counter sales, orders out, accounts, correspondence, and the like purposes, in which two separate packets of leaves, designated opaque and transparent, are so combined that they may be interleaved with each other so as to form groups, to be simultaneously used when desired in association with a copying or transfer sheet to produce the required number of copies of the writing, which is written upon the outside leaf of each group of leaves. The transfer-sheet forms the marker between the packets. The packet of transparent leaves is placed preferably upon the upper side of a double-faced transfer-sheet, which forms the outside leaf of the packet of opaque leaves. Each opaque leaf is twice the size of a transparent leaf, so that it may be folded over it when the transparent leaf is laid upon the transfer-sheet. Both packets of leaves and the transfer-sheet are held at the stub margin (which is perforated for detachment purposes) by a securing-device attached to the right-hand cover of the book, and preferably hinged to allow of free folding movement of the combined packets, the cover being reserved for displaying an index-sheet, such as are in common use. The securing-device, though arranged to grip both packets simultaneously, is capable of detachment, so that either packet may be renewed when the leaves are depleted. Such device would be equally capable of securing the combined packets, whether the packet of transparent leaves is placed above the packet of opaque leaves or beneath it.
[N.B.—The above extract from the specification is inserted in place of the claims.]
