ceedings relating thereto, and doth hereby validate the said special order making and levying the said special rate; and doth hereby declare that the proceedings respectively relating to the said special order raising the loan and the said special order making and levying the special rate shall be and be deemed to be as good, valid, and effectual as though the said public notification had been correctly published and the said special order making and levying the said special rate had been made contemporaneously with or subsequently to the said special order raising the loan; and that the validity of the proceedings or the security for the said loan shall not be questioned on the ground of the aforementioned irregularities or defects.

Validating the Public Notification of the Special Order in connection with a Loan of ยฃ2,000 applied for by the Makerua Drainage Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this tenth day of November, 1909.

WHEREAS the Makerua Drainage Board lately proposed to raise a loan of two thousand pounds, under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908," for the concentration and discharge of the drainage of one thousand six hundred and eighty-six acres or thereabouts into the Board's main drain: And whereas the public notification of the special order making the special rate to provide interest and other charges on the said loan was published in the Horowhenua Chronicle newspaper for four weeks, but was not published once in each week of the four weeks immediately preceding the date of the subsequent meeting at which the special order was confirmed, as required by section ninety-seven of "The Counties Act, 1908": And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the said notification: Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and twenty-one of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908," and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that such public notification of the said special order shall be deemed and taken to be as valid as though the said notification had been properly published, and that the proceedings relative to the said loan shall not be called in question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve in the Otago Land District.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by "The Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908," it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to change or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in His Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserve or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, the Governor may, by notice gazetted, declare his intention to make such change, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made: Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by "The Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908," aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the portion of the reserve described in the second column of the Schedule hereto from that named in the first column of the said Schedule to that named in the third column of the said Schedule.

Bounded towards the north by Section No. 1, Block II, Pomahaka Survey District; towards the east by Section No. 43, Block I, Pomahaka Survey District, and by a public road forming the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned section and the western boundary of Section No. 42 of the said Block I; and towards the south-west by a public road which forms the north-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 1, 2, and 39 of the said Block I: exclusive of a public road which intersects the above-described area: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 57265/5, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. | All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 29 perches, more or less, being Section No. 44, Block I, Pomahaka Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 41 of the said block, 279.6 links; towards the east by a public road, 338.7 links; and towards the south-west by a public road, 338.7 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 5368/4, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. | Permanently reserved for a resting-place for stock by Warrant published in New Zealand Gazette No. 78, of the 15th October, 1908.

Land temporarily reserved for a Public Recreation-ground in the Auckland Land District.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of "The Land Act, 1908," it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned: Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Auckland Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for a public recreation-ground.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 26 acres and 18 perches, more or less, being Section No. 1, Block X, Town of Taumarunui. Bounded towards the north-east and east by Turaki Street, towards the south by the Esplanade along the Wanganui River, and towards the west generally and north-west by Morero Terrace; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1302/10, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
