Declaring Road-lines through Land in the Glenham Settlement to be closed.

PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS a report has been received from the Surveyor-General from which it appears that the roads described
in the Schedule hereto are unformed and unused, and that the said roads intersect land acquired under "The
Land for Settlements Act, 1908," and are not suitable for the subdivision of such land:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and
in exercise of section eighty of the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this
behalf, do by this notice hereby close the roads hereinafter described, and I do hereby declare that the said roads shall
thereupon become subject to the said Act.

hundred and nine.

Removing Restrictions against Alienation of Native Land.

PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by section fourteen of "The Maori Land
Laws Amendment Act, 1903," it is enacted that, not-
withstanding anything to the contrary in any Act, or in
any Crown grant or other instrument of title, the Governor
may, on the recommendation of the Board, remove any
restriction on the alienation of land owned by Maoris:
Provided that the decision of the Governor on any re-
commendation of the Board shall be given within six
months from the date of the receipt of such recommenda-
tion:

And whereas the Aotea District Maori Land Board, by a
recommendation made and passed by the said Board on
the second day of October, one thousand nine hundred
and nine, and received on the eighth day of October,
one thousand nine hundred and nine, recommended the
Governor to remove and revoke the restrictions against alien-
ation contained in the instrument of title of the block of
land particularised and set out in the Schedule hereto, so
as to permit the same to be sold:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers conferred upon and vested in me
by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities me
thereunto enabling, and in accordance with the recom-
mendation of the Aotea District Maori Land Board afore-
said, do hereby remove and revoke the restrictions now
existing against the alienation of the said land, so as to
permit the same to be sold at a price to be not less than the
Government valuation thereof.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land, situate in the Belmont
Survey District, containing 3 acres 2 roods 14 perches, more
or less, known as Section 1 of Subdivision 14 of Section 8,
Block XI, Belmont, and comprised in a partition order of
the Native Land Court dated the 16th day of September,
1889, subject to the restriction that the land comprised
therein shall be "inalienable."

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this third day of November, one thousand nine
hundred and nine.
