Resuming Land for Gravel Purposes in the Westland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-four of “The Land Act, 1908” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”),
it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor in Council may, by Proclamation, resume possession of any land leased
under Part III of the said Act, or under any corresponding Part of “The Land Act, 1892,” which in his opinion is
required for any public purpose :

And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto form parts of lands which are held under leases in perpetuity
from His Majesty the King under Part III of “The Land Act, 1892,” dated as mentioned in the said Schedule :

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required for a public
purpose—that is to say, for gravel reserves :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act,
1908,” and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the lands mentioned in the Schedule
hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the lands held under leases in perpetuity
as aforesaid.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight
Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander
of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion
of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this third day of November, in the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and nine.
