Pastoral Runs in Southland Land District classified.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Commissioners appointed to classify and report upon rural lands in Southland Land District have reported to His Excellency the Governor that the lands described in the Schedule hereto have been classified by them as therein noted.

SCHEDULE.

CLASS I.—PASTORAL LANDS, being Lands suitable exclusively for Pasturage, and not capable of being used with Profit in Areas of a Carrying-capacity of less than Five Thousand Sheep.

143A, 143B, 415D, and 156A1 Acres. 17,180 Situated in Takitimo and Wairaki Survey Districts. Bounded towards the north by Run 415C; towards the north-east by Telford Burn; towards the north-west by the Wairaki River; towards the east by Run 187C and a road-line; towards the south generally by Sections 82, 80, 75, 30, 1, and 27, Wairaki District; towards the west generally by Section 32, Wairaki District, a road-line, Sections 74, 31, and a road-line to the Wairaki River; again towards the north by that river; and again towards the west by Run 415B.
350 19,100 Situated in Von and Mid-Wakatipu Survey Districts. Bounded towards the north by Run 350A; towards the east generally by Lake Wakatipu; towards the south and south-west generally by Von River and Runs 324A, 350B, 389A; towards the west by Run 431: excepting Section 8, Block XV, Mid-Wakatipu Survey District.
350A 9,400 Situated in Von and Upper Wakatipu Survey Districts. Bounded towards the north-west and north generally by the Greenstone River and the edge of the bush; towards the north-east generally by Lake Wakatipu; towards the south by Run 350; and towards the west by Run 431: excepting a recreation reserve surrounding Rere Lake.
2B, 3A 15,530 Situated in Mid-Wakatipu and Eyre North Survey Districts. Bounded towards the north by Lake Wakatipu; towards the east by a road-line, and by Section 14, Block III, Mid-Wakatipu Survey District; again towards the north generally by a road-line, Lake Wakatipu aforesaid, and Sections 21 and 39, Block IX, Mid-Wakatipu Survey District aforesaid; towards the east and south-east by Runs 2A and 3; towards the south generally by Lochy River and Section 4, Eyre North Survey District; and towards the west generally by Run 438, Afton Creek, Afton Burn, and Section 17, Block II, Mid-Wakatipu Survey District aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

CLASS I.—PASTORAL LANDS, being Lands suitable exclusively for Pasturage, and not capable of being used with Profit in Areas of a Carrying-capacity of less than Five Thousand Sheep.

Run 34: Kawhaka River; situated in Westland County, Turiwhate Survey District. Bounded on the north by Crown land. Bounded on the east by Crown land and Pastoral Run No. 32. Bounded on the south by Pastoral Run No. 428. Bounded on the west by Reserve No. 145 to Trig. N.D., thence by Crown land to the Kawhaka River.

CLASS II.—PASTORAL-AGRICULTURAL LANDS, being Lands adapted in Part for Pasturage and in Part for Agricultural Purposes, but suitable for Subdivision in Areas not exceeding Five Thousand Acres.

Run 9: Kokatahi and Toaroha Rivers; area, 33,000 acres; Westland County, Kanieri and Toaroha Survey Districts. Bounded on the north from north-east corner of Section 761 by Crown land. Bounded on the east by Crown land and Pastoral Run No. 85. Bounded on the south by Pastoral Runs Nos. 86 and 62. Bounded on the west by Crown land to north-west corner of Section 2386, thence by that section to the Toaroha River, thence by the north bank of that stream to Section 2384 and 2384A, thence by Crown land to the Kokatahi River, thence by north bank of that river to south-east corner of Section 2148, thence by that section to the Styx River, thence by that river for 110 chains, thence by Crown land to the south-east corner of Section 761.

Run 13: Little Wanganui; area, 15,000 acres; situated in Westland County, Wataroa and Poerua Survey Districts. Bounded on the north by Crown lands to Poerua River, thence by the west bank of that river for 235 chains to south-west corner of Education Endowment Reserve No. 121, thence by that reserve to Ferguson’s Creek, and by that stream to south-east corner of Section 2501, thence by Crown land to south-west corner of Section 2259, thence by Sections 2259, 2260, 345, 162, 161, 2167, 158, 171, and 209. Bounded on the east by Pastoral Run No. 88, 20 chains below the timber-line on the Wilberg Range, to the Poerua River. Bounded on the south and west 20 chains below the timber-line on the Adams Range and by Pastoral Run No. 63.

Run 15: Totara and Waiho Rivers; area, 7,000 acres; situated in Westland County, Survey District of Waiho. Bounded towards the north and east by Company Creek for 280 chains, commencing 40 chains from the sea-coast, thence by Crown land to Trig. I.L., thence by a direct line to the Atupau River. Bounded towards the south and west by the Atupau and north bank of the Waiho River; also to include that area bounded on the north and east by Sections 2192, 2191, and Crown land. Bounded on the south by Crown land to the Atupau River, thence by that river for a distance of one mile, thence by Crown land and Arthur Creek to the Callery River. Bounded on the south and west by the Callery River to the Waiho River, thence by that river for 60 chains, thence by a direct line to the south-east corner of Section 2192.

Run 17: Waikukupa River; area, 10,500 acres; situated in Westland County, Waiho Survey District. Bounded towards the north and east by Crown land, Section 901, and Pastoral Run No. 16. Bounded on the south and west by Crown land and Pastoral Run No. 443, excluding an area of 150 acres between junction of Paddy Creek and Waikukupa River.

Run 61: Waiho River; area 5,500 acres; situated in Westland County, Waiho Survey District. Bounded on the north and east by Sections 2196, 2569, 2570, and Docherty Creek to south-west corner of Section 2197, thence by Sections 2197 and 2199, thence by a south line for 120 chains. Bounded on the south by Crown lands to Pastoral Run No. 16. Bounded on the west by Pastoral Run No. 16 to south-east corner of Section 2419, thence by Section 2419 and Reserve 928, thence by Crown lands to north-west corner of Section 2196.

Run 65: Moeraki; area, 14,000 acres; situated in Westland County, Abbey Rocks Survey District. Bounded on the north by Pastoral Runs Nos. 48–50, Lake Paringa, Cattle-resting Reserve No. 361, and Crown land. Bounded on the east by Pastoral Runs Nos. 20 and 57. Bounded on the south for 120 chains by Crown land, thence by the north bank of the Moeraki River for 510 chains to the Main South Road. Bounded on the west by Main South Road to south-east corner of Cattle-resting Reserve No. 330, thence by that reserve and Crown land.
