Validating the Public Notifications of the Special Order in
connection with a Proposed Loan of £2,000 for drainage
works in the Borough of Plunket, Waikaremoana Fund, &c.,
applied for by the Plunketon Borough Council.

PLUNKET, GOVERNOR.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day
of October, 1908.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Picton Borough Council lately took a
poll of the ratepayers of the said borough upon a
proposal to raise a special loan of the sum of two thousand
two hundred and fifty pounds for the purpose of the
drainage-works set forth in the said proposal:

And whereas the resolution to impose a special rate for
the purpose of providing the interest and other charges of
the said loan was passed on the twenty-fifth day of August,
one thousand nine hundred and nine:

And whereas the proposal to raise the said special loan was
held on the eighteenth day of September, one thousand nine
hundred and eight, and has been advertised as hereinafter
in the Marlborough Press on the twentieth and twenty-
second days of August, one thousand nine hundred and
eight, and in the Plunketon Times and Plunketon Guardian,
not published once in each full week intervening between
the date of the first and the last of the advertisements, as
Corporations Act, 1908:

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers of the said
borough have not been misled by the omission of a special rate
as is expedient to validate the said proceedings:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers and authorities conferred by section one hundred
and twenty-one of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,
and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth
by this Order in Council declare and appoint that, notwith-
standing the provisions of the said section of the said Act,
the proceedings of the said borough in connection with the
said special loan shall be deemed and taken to be and to
have been valid, and that the said special loan shall be and
is hereby validated, and that the said special loan may be
proceeded with as if the provisions of the said section of
the said Act had been fully complied with.

Waihoumoana School Trust Board to be a Leasing Authority
under “The Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.”

PLUNKET, GOVERNOR.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington this twelfth day
of October, 1908.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Waikaremoana School Trust Board is a
“Public Body” within the meaning of section 2 of
subsection (1) of section five of “The Public Bodies’
Leases Act, 1908,” and it is expedient to extend to the said
authority within the meaning of that Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency William Lee, Baron
Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance of the
powers and authorities conferred upon him by the above-
mentioned Act, doth hereby order that, from and after
the date hereof, the Waikaremoana School Trust
Board shall be a leasing authority under the provisions of
that Act.

Post-office where Miners’ Rights may be issued.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred upon me by “The Mining Act, 1908,” and all
other powers and authorities enabling me in that behalf, I,
William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby declare and appoint the
undermentioned place to be a post-office at which miners’
rights may be issued by the Postmaster in charge of such
post-office, viz.:—

HAVELOCK, Blenheim.

As witness my hand, this fifth day of October, one
thousand nine hundred and eight.

Resurveying / County of Cook into Ridings, &c., under “The
Counties Act, 1908.”

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council made the twentieth day
of April, one thousand nine hundred and eight, one thou-
sand nine hundred and nine, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette of the twenty-seventh day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and nine, the County of Cook was subdivided into
six Ridings:

And whereas it is expedient to revoke the said Order in
Council and to make provision for the subdivision of the
County of Cook into new Ridings, as hereinafter provided:

Now, therefore, His Excellency William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Go-
vernor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exer-
cise of the powers vested in me by “The Counties Act, 1908,”
and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, doth hereby
order that the County of Cook be subdivided into new Ridings,
as hereinafter provided:

And His Excellency the Governor doth hereby revoke the
Order in Council made on the twentieth day of April, one thou-
sand nine hundred and eight, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette of the twenty-seventh day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and nine, relating to the subdivision of the County of Cook
into Ridings.

SCHEDULE.

TOLL GATE RIDING.

All that area of land bounded towards the north
generally by Waipaoa County from the northern boundary of
Waimata North No. 1 Block; towards the east generally by
the east generally by the sea to the mouth of the Pouawa
Stream; towards the south generally by the middle of the
said Pouawa Stream to the eastern boundary of Waimata
North No. 2 Block; thence by that Waimata North No. 2
Block to the northernmost corner of the said last-mentioned
block, and Waimoomo No. 1 and 2 Blocks to the
northernmost corner of the last-mentioned block, and thence
by the northern boundary of Waimata North No. 1 Block; thence by the
northern boundary of Waimata North No. 1 Block; thence by the
