NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Okotuku Road Board proposes, under “The Public Works Act, 1908,” to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road through Sections 114, 115, and 125, Block II, Wairoa Survey District—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the Okotuku Road Board, Waverley, and is there open for inspection. And notice is also given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Okotuku Road Board, Waverley, as aforesaid.

BOROUGH OF PARNELL.

SPECIAL ORDER DECLARING A RESERVE NOT REQUIRED FOR THE PURPOSE INTENDED TO BE LEASED.

AT a special meeting of the Parnell Borough Council held on Monday, the 23rd August, 1909, and of which due notice had been given, it was resolved,—

“That Allotment 95 of Section 1, Suburbs of Auckland, granted as a site for a Town Hall, is not likely to be required for the purpose intended, and that it be leased for a term of twenty-one years in terms of section 138 and part 2 of section 140 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” and that this resolution have the effect of a special order.”

The above resolution was confirmed at a subsequent ordinary meeting of the said Council held on Monday, the 20th September, 1909, of which due notice had been given.

OHOKA AND EYRETON JOCKEY CLUB REGULATIONS.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of “The Gaming Act, 1908,” and with the approval of the Governor, the Ohoka and Eyreton Jockey Club (Registered), a racing club within the meaning of the said Act, doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the Ohoka and Eyreton Domain, situated at Mandeville, set apart for racing purposes, and known as the Ohoka and Eyreton Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings:—

  1. In these regulations the words “bookmaker” and “racing club” shall have the meaning ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the said Act.

  2. The following persons shall be and are excluded from the Ohoka and Eyreton Racecourse while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—

(a.) Bookmakers, unless they shall be duly licensed by the said club under and in pursuance of the provisions of section 34 of the said Act.

(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the Canterbury Jockey Club.

(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves, or persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

The foregoing regulations of the Ohoka and Eyreton Jockey Club are hereby approved this 17th day of September, 1909.

THE NEW PLYMOUTH PETROLEUM COMPANY (LIMITED), (IN LIQUIDATION).

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 230 of “The Companies Act, 1908,” that a General Meeting of the members of the above company will be held in the company’s registered office, Exchange Court, Princes Street, Dunedin, on Thursday, the 28th day of October, 1909, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having the accounts laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the assets of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidators; also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and the Liquidators thereof shall be disposed of.

TAUTUKU SAWMILLING COMPANY (LIMITED), (IN LIQUIDATION).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the Tautuku Sawmilling Company (Limited), held at the registered office of the company, 152 High Street, Dunedin, on Monday, 27th September, 1909, the following resolution was passed: “That the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is desirable to wind up the same, and that the company be wound up accordingly under “The Companies Act, 1908,” and that a Liquidator be appointed for such winding-up.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Northern Assurance Company (Limited), a company duly registered under the English Companies Acts, 1862 to 1907 (heretofore carrying on business under the name of “The Northern Assurance Company”), proposes to carry on its business in the Town of Timaru and the Counties of Geraldine, Waimate, and Mackenzie. All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid respectively by the said Mark Abrahams, who will continue to carry on the said business under the style or firm of “M. Sandstein and Son.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore existing between OSCAR ALBERT JORGENSEN, VALDEMAR JULIUS JORGENSEN, and CARL GEORGE JOHANN, under the name of “Jorgensen Bros. and Johann,” in Wellington, Builders and Contractors, has been dissolved as from the 28th day of September, 1909, and that the business will be carried on under the same name by the said Oscar Albert Jorgensen.
