Land set apart for Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section seventy-five of “The Local
Bodies’ Loan Act, 1908,” it is, amongst other
things, enacted that, before any money is raised under
the provisions of the said Act, the Governor may
necessary that the laid block be proclaimed as set apart for
settlement: And whereas by section fifty-four of the Land
Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the
eight of “The
Minister of Finance may, from time to time, out of the moneys
raised under sections seventy-five to seventy-seven of the first-
mentioned Act, and that may be allotted as chargeable to the
national endowment land, advance such sums as may be necessary for
national endowment land: And whereas the block of land
described in the Schedule hereto is national endowment land:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power
and authority in me by the above-recited Acts, and in order
to give effect to the purposes of the said Act, I, William Lee,
Governor of the Dominion of New
Baron Plunket,
Zealand, do hereby proclaim the block of land described
in the Schedule hereto as set apart for settlement.

As the same is delineated upon the plan marked as above
referred to, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and
thereon edged with red as above.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight
Commander of the Most Distinguished Order
of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight
Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Gov-
ernor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its
Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the
said Dominion, at the Government House, at
Wellington, this tenth day of September, in the
year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and
nine.

WHEREAS by section seventy-five of “The Local
Bodies’ Loan Act, 1908,” it is, amongst other
things, enacted that, before any money is raised or sanc-
tioned are expended upon any block of land it shall be
necessary that the block shall be proclaimed as set apart for
settlement: And whereas by section fifty-four and fifty-
eight of “The Land Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the
Minister of Finance may from time to time, in accordance
with sections seventy-five to seventy-seven of the first-
mentioned Act, and out of moneys to be thereby allo-
cated for the purpose and set apart for settlement, for
national endowment land: And whereas the block of land
described in the Schedule hereto is national endowment land.

† ERRATUM.—In page 2315, New Zealand Gazette of the 9th September, 1909: “Notice fixing Closing-hours of Book-
makers’ Shops in the Borough of Hamilton,” insert the word “Varied” and; after the words “aforementioned requisition” add “The notice gazetted on the 21st day
of May, 1908, fixing the closing-hours of all shops in the borough is hereby varied accordingly.”
