No. 26326.—30th July, 1909.—HARRY PERRINS, of Oakdene, Bearwood Road, Smethwick, Stafford, England, Engineer. Improvements in wheels for motor and other road vehicles.

Claims.—(1.) In a road-vehicle wheel the combination of two stamped sheet-metal side discs, the adjacent face of each of which has a circumferential groove at or near its periphery, a central hub or axle-box on which the discs are mounted, furnished with means for removably securing said discs there-to face to face, a detachable trough section-wheel rim made with inturned edges, and adapted to receive a pneumatic tire; and to fit into and be clipped between the grooved faces of said two discs, and means for clamping said detachable rim and discs together, substantially as set forth. (2.) In a road-vehicle wheel the combination of two stamped sheet-metal side discs, the adjacent face of each of which has a circumferential groove at or near its periphery, a central hub or axle-box on which the discs are mounted, furnished with one fixed and one removable flange outside said discs, and a detachable distance-block mounted on said hub or axle-box so as not to turn thereon between said discs, which latter are stamped with projections engaging in recesses in the distance-block to prevent the discs turning on the hub or axle-box, or turning independently of one another, substantially as set forth. No. 26345.—4th August, 1909.—WILLIAM WHYTE CABENA, of 405 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Merchant (assignee of William Stocks, of 32 Kerr Street, Fitzroy, Victoria aforesaid, Engineer and Rubber Expert). Improvements in or connected with the manufacture of rubber or the like.

Claims.—(1.) The improved manufacture of rubber consisting in the combination of old waste rubber and sesquisulphate of lime mixed together in the manner and the approximate proportions specified. (2.) In the manufacture of the rubber compound referred to in claim 1, the use of naphthaline and benzine as solvents for the mixture, substantially as specified. (3.) In the manufacture of the rubber compound referred to in claim 1, submitting the combined ingredients to steam pressure, substantially as and for the purposes specified. (Specification, 2s. 6d.)

No. 26350.—4th August, 1909.—ALBEMARLE BRINDLEY BETTINGTON, of Brindley Park, Merriwa, New South Wales, Australia, Grazier. An improved instrument for decaudating and cauterising animals.

Claims.—(1.) An improved instrument for decaudating and cauterising animals comprising shears having a pair of copper cutters the edges of which being adjustable transversely on the jaws of said shears, the lower handle having a T-shaped ending and also a stop-piece to limit the closing movement of the upper handle, thereby protecting the cutting edges of said cutters, as described and ascertained. (2.) An improved instrument for decaudating and cauterising animals consisting of the parts or integers as described and illustrated in the drawings. (Specification, 2s. 9d.; drawing, 1s.)
