PRIVATE BILL.

In the matter of a proposed Bill or Act intituled “ An Act to enable the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington to erect a Boarding-school on certain Land situate in the City of Wellington, and to borrow and raise Money on the same and on certain other Lands, and to devote the Net Proceeds in or towards the Erection and Upkeep of certain School Buildings thereon.”

PURSUANT to the Standing Orders of the General Assembly of New Zealand relating to private Bills, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington gives notice that, within fourteen days of the session to be held next after the date of this notice, a petition will be presented to Parliament praying leave to bring in a private Bill to be called “ The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington Empowering Bill, 1909.” The objects of the said Bill are, —

To authorise the erection of a Boarding-school for Girls on the land described in the First Schedule to the said Bill; to authorise the erection of an Orphanage for Girls on the land described in the Third Schedule thereto; to authorise the raising of money on the security of the lands described in the three Schedules thereto, or any of them; and, further, to authorise the Archbishop to borrow and raise money on the security of lands described in the Fourth Schedule thereto (being lands situated in the Borough of Carterton) for the purpose of erecting and maintaining church buildings, parochial residences, schools, and teachers’ residences in the said borough.

A copy of the said petition will be deposited in the office of the Examiner of Standing Orders either before or within fourteen days after the commencement of the said session.

SUBSCRIPTIONS. — The subscription is at the rate of 33s. per annum, including postage, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than three months cannot be subscribed for.

Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertion.

Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged 23s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening in each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 3 o’clock of the day preceding publication.

Communications should be addressed to the Government Printer, Wellington, to whom post-office money-orders should be made payable. Cheques should be crossed “ Public a/c,” and exchange added.

Postage or duty stamps cannot be received in payment from any place at which postal notes or post-office orders are issued.

Prepayment may be demanded in any case. In order to prevent delay in publication, a sufficient remittance should accompany every advertisement. Any surplus will be returned with receipted account.
