APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A BRANCH RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Roxburgh.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1908,” the undersigned, John Ewing, of Roxburgh, Hydraulic Mining Engineer, as trustee, hereby applies for a license for a branch race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right: 24th July, 1909; No. 77278.

Address for service: Care of Hutton and McKean, Solicitors, Clyde.

Dated at Clyde, this 21st day of August, 1909.

Schedule.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Commencing in Section 9, Block VII, Benger District, the freehold property of John Avis Pannett, at a point 4 miles 61·50 chains from the head of water-race held under License No. 1192 by the Applicant, extending through the said section for a distance of 43 chains, crossing the main road, and extending through the Mining Reserve to its termination on the margin of the Molyneux River at the lower end of White’s Flat; to be constructed for its whole length of iron fluming-pipes, 36 in. in diameter.

Length and intended course of race: 74·80 chains west from starting-point until Main Road is crossed, thence south to its termination.

Points of intake: Commencing-point.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Twelve months; £3,700.

Mean depth and breadth: No ground; ditch; breadth of strip, 10 ft.
