No. 26261.—17th July, 1909.—Robert Louis Howell Murray, of Ponsonby, near Auckland, New Zealand, Engineer. An improved acetylene-gas generator and holder.
Extract from Specification.—The improvements contained in this invention consist of, in combination, the improved method adopted of supplying the feed-water to the carbide-chamber through the medium of self-regulating valves which not only automatically close the supply of water to the carbide-chambers when the gas-holder is sufficiently filled with gas, but adjust or regulate the supply of water in accordance with the demand for gas on the service to which the gas-holder is connected; in the use of two or more of such valves on the one generator working in conjunction with two or more carbide-chambers, and the weight and pin-wheel attachment whereby a minimum of attention and examination of the carbide in the chambers is required; in the improved form of carbide crates or trays which provide a sure means of supplying the necessary water to the separate divisions of such crates or trays and insure a regular supply of gas being generated, and preventing the possibility of overmaking the gas as is so commonly the case in other forms of crates; in the improved form of carbide-chamber doors and the cooler or condenser fitted with drain and service taps in the base of generator.
[NOTE.—The above extract from the specification is inserted in place of the claims.]
(Specification, 7s. 6d.; drawing, 1s.)
An asterisk (*) denotes the complete specification of an invention for which a provisional specification has been already lodged.
NOTE.—The cost of copying the specification and drawing has been inserted after the notice of each application. An order for a copy or copies should be accompanied by a post-office order or postal note for the cost of copying.
The date of acceptance of each application is given after the number.
