Lands set apart for Lease as a Village Settlement in the Auckland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

I N pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-third section of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the allotments of Crown lands respectively described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby set apart and declared open for lease as a village settlement.

Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road at Islington.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road:

And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes:

And whereas such land is situated in the Templeton Road District, the local authority of which has assented to the issue of this Proclamation:

And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said road:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section one hundred and ninety-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of every other power and authority in any-wise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be under the control of the Templeton Road Board, and shall be maintained by the said Board in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Board.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece of land in the Canterbury Land District, containing 2 roods 15·5 perches, more or less, being a portion of railway land at Islington, on the Lyttelton-Bluff Railway, and being a portion of Reserve 331, in Blocks IX and XIII, Christchurch Survey District, and being bounded as follows: On the north-east by the north-eastern boundary of said Reserve 331; on the south-east by a line bearing 27° 00′, a distance of 530·45 links; again on the south-east by the south-eastern boundary of the railway reserve, a distance of 155·9 links; and on the north-west by a line bearing 27° 00′, a distance of 661·95 links: as the said piece of land is shown coloured purple on a plan marked W.R.16851, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways, at Wellington.
