Note.—A dry and sunny, but windy month. The highest velocity ever recorded in Wellington was at 9 a.m. on 5th, when 1,200 miles were registered for the previous twenty-four hours. Total bright sunshine, 122 hrs. 3 min.; and no sunless days. Last year’s June record was 86 hrs. 8 min. Frost recorded on four mornings. Earth temperatures declined two degrees during the month at 1 ft. and 3 ft., the mean at the former being 52·1°, and 53·9° at the latter depth in the soil. Means: Relative humidity, 71 per cent.; dew-point, 43·3°; and elastic force of vapour, 0·280 in.
