Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Street at Dunedin.

PLUNKET, Governor.
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Waitaki-Bluff Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a street:
And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes: And whereas such land is situated in the City of Dunedin: And whereas the Otago Harbour Board, a local authority within the meaning of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” has assented to the issue of this Proclamation:
And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said street:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by section one hundred and ninety-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a street, and that the said street shall be under the control of the Otago Harbour Board, and shall be maintained by the said Board in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Board.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Otago Land District, containing 3 roods 13·2 perches, more or less, being a portion of railway reserve in the City of Dunedin, and being bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the south-western boundary of the railway reserve, distant 60·93 links north-westerly from the junction of the said south-western boundary with the eastern boundary of the said railway reserve; thence north-westerly by lines bearing 323° 3′ and 326° 36′ respectively, distances of 100·24 links and 22·67 links respectively; thence northerly by lines bearing 18° 10′ 50″ and 6° 41′ 23″ respectively, distances of 588·93 links and 160·90 links respectively; thence north-easterly by a line bearing 59° 32′ 30″, a distance of 125·46 links; and thence southerly by lines bearing 186° 41′ 23″ and 198° 10′ 50″ respectively, distances of 246·66 links and 670·39 links respectively to the commencing-point: as the said parcel of land is more particularly shown coloured purple on a plan marked W.R. 17111, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways, at Wellington.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Defining the Middle-line of a Further Portion of the Stratford-Kawakawa Branch of the Foxton-New Plymouth Railway—namely, Pohokura Section.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS a branch of the Foxton-New Plymouth Railway—namely, from Stratford to a point at or near Wangamomona (hereinafter termed “the said railway”)—is a railway the construction of which is authorised by “The Public Works Act, 1908”: And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same—namely, Pohokura Section:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point on the eastern boundary of Section No. 5, Block XI, Ngatimaru Survey District, distant about 16 chains from the southernmost corner thereof, the said point being marked 22 miles 68 chains, and being also the terminus of the railway described in a Proclamation dated the 18th day of December, 1908, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 106, of the 23rd day of December, 1908; proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly direction for a distance of about 9 miles 22 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., Sections 5 and 6, road reserve in Pohokura Native Block, Subdivision No. 7 of Pohokura Native Block, all in Block XI, Ngatimaru Survey District; Subdivisions 1b, 1c, 1b, and 1a, and road reserve, Pohokura Native Block, all in Block VII, Ngatimaru Survey District; Subdivision 1a, Pohokura Native Block, and road reserve forming the eastern boundaries of Sections 16, 15, and 14, all in Block III, Ngatimaru Survey District; road reserve forming the southern boundary of Section 10, Section 14, road reserve, Sections 7 and 8, and road reserve, Block IV, Ngatimaru Survey District—and terminating in said road reserve at a point marked 32 miles 10 chains, distant in a south-westerly direction about 46 chains from the north-eastern corner of Section No. 17, Block IV, Ngatimaru Survey District: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Taranaki Land District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 24899, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consent of the owner of the land mentioned in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Whangarei County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Purua Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the road described in the First Schedule hereto.
