APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Westland Mining District, at Murchison.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1908,” the undersigned, Frederick Keeble and Frederick Greenway, Miners, Murchison, hereby apply for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and numbers of miners’ rights: Nos. 72537 and 72538.

Address for service: C. Mangos, care of W. Williams, Murchison.

Dated at Lyell, this 29th day of June, 1909.

Schedule.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Situate at Maruia, about seven miles up the Maruia River from its junction with the Buller River. Commencing at a point about half a mile up Flat Creek from its junction with the Maruia River, and terminating at the Applicants’ alluvial claim. The water-race passes through lease in perpetuity of 350 acres in Block XV, Maruia Survey District, granted to E. Allen on 12th October, 1907.

Length and intended course of race: 14 chains; east and west.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Two months; £20.

Mean depth and breadth: 2 ft. by 2 ft.

Number of heads to be diverted: Eight.

Purpose for which water is to be used: For sluicing purposes, to work applicants’ alluvial claim.

Proposed term of license: Twenty-one years.
