standing that the same may be then held under pastoral
license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required
for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me
by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale
the land in the Canterbury Land District described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for an addition to an agricultural
and pastoral show-ground.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District containing
by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Reserve 3787
(in red) and formerly Block III, situated in the Town of
Mackenzie. Bounded towards the north by Cadman Street,
500 links; towards the east by Atkinson Street, 1000 links;
towards the south by Seddon Street, 500 links; and towards
the west by Fitzherbert Street, 1000 links; be all the afore-
said linkages more or less: as the same are delineated on
the plan marked L. 7305/7, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered
red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-ninth day of June, one thousand nine
hundred and nine.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section two of “The Special Powers and Contracts
Act, 1884,” and clause sixty-four of the Schedule thereto,
I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the land
described in the Schedule hereunder as a Native reserve for
the persons entitled thereto under the provisions of sections
three and four of “The Murihiku Native Reserves Grants
Act, 1883.”

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 172 acres and 12 perches, more or less,
being Sections Nos. 4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, and 4E, Block VII,
Longwood District. Bounded towards the north-east by
Crown land, 3585-9 links; towards the south-east by Crown
land, 4800 links; towards the south-west by a public road,
3583-7 links; and towards the north-west by a public road,
4800 links: be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less:
as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 7370,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at
Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

this twenty-ninth day of June, one thousand nine

vested in me by the fourth section of “The Cemeteries
Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor
of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
HENRY JONATHAN MIDDLETON
to be a Trustee, in the place of Hugh Carswell, deceased,
to provide for the maintenance and care of the Fortrose
Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Richard Archibald
Elliot, William Dunlop, James McFadzien, Kenneth George
McKenzie, and James Riddle, previously appointed by His
Excellency the Governor.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-ninth day of June, one thousand nine
hundred and nine.

JOHN JOSEPH PARKER
to be a Trustee, in the place of William John Vickers, who
has removed from the district, to provide for the main-
tenance and care of the Wairoa Public Cemetery, in con-
junction with George Britnell, Thomas Lambert, Joseph
Powdrell, and George Mayo, previously appointed by His
Excellency the Governor.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-ninth day of June, one thousand nine
hundred and nine.

Straight Air-pressure Brakes specially suited for Use on
Railway or Tramway Carriages.

WHEREAS straight air-pressure brakes specially suited
for use on railway or tramway carriages are im-
ported into New Zealand, and such brakes are, in the
opinion of the Minister of Customs, possessed of properties
which enable them to be used for purposes similar to those
for which automatic air-pressure brakes specially suited for
use on railway carriages and wagons are used, the said
automatic air-pressure brakes being free of duty under
“The Customs Duties Act, 1908”:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers and authority conferred upon
me by section sixty-six of “The Customs Law Act, 1908,”
do hereby direct that straight air-pressure brakes specially
suited for use on railway or tramway carriages shall be
admitted into New Zealand free of duties of Customs.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-ninth day of June, one thousand nine
hundred and nine.
