And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown: And whereas a map of the said land has been prepared in duplicate, as required by the ninetieth section of “The Public Works Act, 1908”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby proclaim and declare that the land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, is hereby taken for a post-office as aforesaid; and the said land shall vest in His Majesty the King as from the eleventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Amending General Regulations under Part II of “The Fisheries Act, 1908.”

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of June, 1909.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-third day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 76, of the twenty-ninth day of the same month, certain general regulations for trout and perch fishing were made: And whereas it is desirable that the said regulations should be altered and amended:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by sections eighty-three and ninety-four of “The Fisheries Act, 1908,” doth hereby amend the said regulations in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto, and doth hereby declare that these amendments shall have force and effect in each acclimatisation district throughout the Dominion.
SCHEDULE.
REGULATION 2 is hereby amended by inserting the following proviso after the words “in any such district”: “Provided that it shall be lawful for any secretary or his deputy, in any case where application is made on or after the 20th day of December in any year, to issue a license to any man, but so that any such license shall extend only from the time of granting the same until the termination of the then fishing season. Such license shall be termed ‘Half-season license,’ and shall entitle the holder thereof to fish only in the waters of the acclimatisation district in which it is issued.”
Regulation 4 is hereby amended by adding the words “Half-season license, as prescribed above: Twelve shillings and sixpence.”

Making General Harbour Regulations regarding Motor and other Boats.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of June, 1909.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS it is enacted by section two hundred and five of “The Harbours Act, 1908,” that the Governor may, for the purposes specified in the said section, from time to time, by Order in Council gazetted, make regulations to be called “General Harbour Regulations,” which shall have force and effect in all the ports of New Zealand: And whereas it is desirable to make the following General Harbour Regulations:—
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore-in-part-recited Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following General Harbour Regulations, and doth hereby order and declare that they shall have force and effect in all the ports of New Zealand, and shall be read with all General Harbour Regulations heretofore made and now in force:—
GENERAL HARBOUR REGULATIONS.

Every motor-boat, steam launch, sailing-cutter, yacht, or small sailing or rowing boat when in the fairway of any harbour shall on the approach of a larger vessel haul to that side of the fairway which is on the starboard side of such first-mentioned vessel; and also when within 500 yards of any wharf to or from which any vessel of over 500 tons register is proceeding, or to or from which such vessel is being towed, shall give way and keep clear of such vessel.

Every vessel under 150 ft. in length and propelled by steam or motor which proceeds from any harbour to beyond the limits thereof for the purpose of being used in connection with fishing shall be fully equipped with sails, and in case of vessels under 50 ft. in length shall be provided with sweeps or oars as a provision against the failure of the mechanical power.

In conjunction with the usual lights carried by tugs, any tug towing rafts of logs or timber shall show from her stern two red lights in a vertical line one over the other, not less than 6 ft. apart, and of such a character as to be visible all round the horizon at a distance of at least two miles.

Any master or any person in charge of a boat offending against the provisions of these regulations shall be liable to a fine not exceeding £100.

WHEREAS, there being no Harbour Board empowered to grant the license hereinafter mentioned, James Henry Pomeroy, of Invercargill (hereinafter called “the licensee”), has applied to the Governor in Council for a license under “The Harbours Act, 1908” (hereinafter called “the said Act”), to occupy a part of the foreshore at Mullet Bay, Pahia, in the Provincial District of Otago, in order to construct and maintain thereon a tramway; and, in accordance with the one-hundred-and-fiftieth section of the said Act, has deposited a plan in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, marked M.D. 3350 (two sheets), showing the place where it is intended to construct such tramway, the area of foreshore intended to be occupied for such purpose, and the manner in which it is proposed to carry out the work: And whereas it has been made to appear to the Governor in Council that the proposed work will not be or
