And whereas by Order in Council dated the twenty-
fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and
seven, and the seventh day of December, one thousand nine
hundred and seven, such an amendment as to the
district wherein it is desirable to further vary such class
season:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authorities conferred upon him by "The Fisheries
Act, 1908," and acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
make the following regulations in lieu of, and in amend-
ment to the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council of the
twenty-fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and
seven, and of the regulations made thereby:

REGULATIONS.

The close season for the taking of Mugil known as mullet
or kanae in the North Island of New Zealand, which was
proclaimed by regulations dated the 25th day of November,
one thousand nine hundred and seven, as to the waters
in the waters of the Dominion as defined by the said Act on
the northeastern and eastern coasts of the North Island and
the North Island between Cape Maria Van Diemen and
Cape Runaway, East Cape.

Appointment of Representatives for Public County Council
on the Waikato Hospital and Charitable Aid Board.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by "The Hospitals and Charitable Aid
Act, 1908," His Excellency the Governor
of the Dominion of New Zealand, doth hereby appoint

WILLIAM HOGAN, of Cambridge, Farmer;
CHARLES MANUEL, of Morrinsville, Farmer; and
JOHN B. TEASDALE, of Te Aroha, Farmer,
to represent the Piako County Council on the Waikato
Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, to hold office as from
election by the Board under "The Hospitals
and Charitable Institutions Act, 1908," or its amendments.

As Witness the Hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-sixth day of January, one thousand nine
hundred and nine.

Polling-places for Thames Electoral District appointed.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon me by "The
Electoral Act, 1908," His Excellency the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint the several polling-places mentioned in the
Schedule hereto as polling-places for the said Electoral
District of Thames.

Warrant authorizing the Rangitikei County Council to con-
struct a Bridge over the Manawatu River on the Potaka
Road, and apportioning the Cost.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and nineteen of
"The Public Works Act, 1908" (hereinafter termed
"the said Act"), it is, inter alia, enacted that, in cases
where any local authority or any district desires to construct
a bridge, or to establish a ferry or ford, in any position that
may be of general or public utility, it shall be lawful for
any considerable portion of the inhabitants of an adjacent
borough or county, or any inhabitants of an adjacent district
where it is, in the opinion of such local authority, reasonable
that they should bear a portion of the cost of such
bridge, ferry, or ford, the provisions of the said section shall
be applicable:

And whereas the Rangitikei County Council has given
notice that they are desirous of constructing a bridge
over the Manawatu River on the Potaka Road, in the position
shown on the bridge mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and
that it is their opinion that a considerable portion of
the inhabitants of an adjacent district will benefit by
the construction of the said bridge and that they should bear a
portion of the cost of such construction and maintenance, and
that it is their opinion that the work should be
undertaken in conformity with the provisions of the said Act,
and that the expense thereof be borne by the Council of the
Town of Feilding in the proportions hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance
and in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said Act,
and in the other powers and authorities enabling me in that
behalf, do hereby authorize the Council of the
Rangitikei County to undertake the work and do hereby
declare that the cost thereof, less such contribution as may
be made by the Government (if any), shall be borne by the
said Council and the Council of the Town of Feilding
respectively, and do hereby declare the proportions of
such cost which are to be borne by each respectively, to be
as follows: that is to say, the Rangitikei County Council
to bear two-thirds of such cost and the Council of the
Town of Feilding to bear one-third of such cost: Provided
that the total amount to be borne by the Town of Feilding
shall not exceed the sum of five hundred pounds: Provided also,
that the contribution to be paid by the Town of Feilding
shall be paid in such manner and at such times as may be
agreed upon by the two Councils, or, failing agreement, as
demanded in writing made by or on behalf of the Rangitikei
County Council after the completion of the work, and from
time to time, to the Clerk of the said County Council for
and on behalf of such County Council.

SCHEDULE.

THAT bridge over the Manawatu River on the Potaka Road,
and known as the Kawatau Bridge; as the site of the said
bridge at Were perfectly defined by a survey, and the
bridge will be erected on the road shown as a public road in the
records at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and
therefore known as Potaka Road.

this fifteenth day of January, one thousand nine
hundred and nine.
