NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned lands
are open for selection on renewable lease, and applications will be received at this office up to 4 o'clock p.m.
on Thursday, the 12th day of August, 1909, under the
provisions of “The Land Act, 1908,” and “The Land for
Settlements Act, 1908.”

Undulating to hilly land; suitable for dairying. Altitude,
810 ft. to 1,125 ft. above sea-level. Good soil, on papa formation. The land has been covered with bush, which has
been milled; partly cleared and grassed. Watered by
several streams. Situated about a mile from Matamau
Railway-station by a good formed metal road. The improvements, included in the price of the land, comprise a half-share in 43½ chains of fencing along the south boundary,
valued at £21 15s. The Sawmilling Company have the
right to use a branch tram-line running through the section.

Partly cleared and grassed. Good soil; indifferently
watered. Altitude, 800 ft. to 1,100 ft. above sea-level.
Situated five miles and a half from Piripiri Siding and seven
miles from Dannevirke by good formed metal road. The
improvements, included in the price of the land, comprise
half-share in 36 chains of boundary-fencing, valued at £13 10s.

This run has a very fair soil, but its general aspect is
southerly. The country is cold and exposed, and snow
sometimes lies on parts of it for a considerable time.
Situated about two miles from Waipori Township, where
there is a school and a post and telephone office.

Public Auction.

pastoral runs will be offered for license by public auction, at this office, at 11 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday, the 28th
day of July, 1909, under the provisions of “The Land Act,
1908.”

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

SECTIONS 1 to 4, Block III, Table Hill Survey District,
Bruce County: Area, 255 acres 1 rood 31 perches; term,
fourteen years; upset annual rental, £6.

Sections 6 and 10, Block III, Table Hill Survey District,
Bruce County: Area, 183 acres and 26 perches; term,
fourteen years; upset annual rental, £4.

Runs 95A and 99A (grouped), Vincent County (Class I):
Area, 49,600 acres; term, fourteen years; upset annual rental,
£10. (National endowment.)

Possession of above runs will be given on day of sale.

Run 258, Clutha and Southland Counties (Class II): Area,
13,550 acres; term, fourteen years; upset annual rental,
£600. (Clutha River Trust Endowment.)

Possession of this run will be given on 1st March, 1910.

Valuations for improvements must be paid to the Receiver
of Land Revenue, Dunedin, before the licensees will be let
into possession.

Description of Runs.

Sections 1 to 4, Block III, Table Hill District, are situated
within half a mile of Mount Stuart Railway-siding. A large
portion of Sections 1 and 4 is covered with manuka scrub.
The clear land carries a light tussock.

Sections 6 and 10, Block III, Table Hill District, are
situated within half a mile of Glenore Railway-siding. Section 6 is partly covered with fern, but the remainder of the
land carries fair vegetation.

Runs 95A and 99A (grouped) are situated about three miles
north of the head of Lake Hawea, and extend along the
Hunter River for a distance of upwards of twenty miles. The
flats along the river are fairly well grassed. On the higher
altitudes the country is inferior and rough, covered with
scrub and patches of bush. Altitude, from 1,300 ft. to
8,000 ft.

Run 258 is situated from nine to ten miles from Clinton.
It consists of very fairly grassed country, inclined to be
swampy in places. It possesses a plentiful and permanent
water-supply in all parts, and the elevation rises to about
2,200 ft. Only a small portion, however, attains this height,
the greater part of the run being under 1,000 ft. The
general aspect is south-easterly.
